I know that is a big statement, but let's look at the facts. Nobody can dispute that Conor McGregor is a rare talent and athlete.
He says time and time again that he will stick with the people that got him there from day one, which he deserves respect for. But Nate Diaz's criticisms of Conor's training partners pre-fight were valid. Who is pushing Conor in sparring? Owen Roddy? Artem? I think he has a lot of knowledgable MMA minds around him but in terms of fighting skill who is really pushing him, putting him in places of adversity, giving answers to his striking that he will see when he faces high-level fighters?
McGregor is young in the game and will surely get better but when you look at other fighters that have improved dramatically, from Robbie Lawler to RDA, etc., there are usually changes that they made in their environment.
