Will Jon Jones finish Stipe?

Yes I think so no matter how motivated and how good training is going I see jones beating him by tko

I'm talking about Usman-Leon 3 not being a "comfortable" win for Leon. It was a majority decision, and those - pretty much by definition - aren't "comfortable" wins.

Over and out.
You mentioned a headkick that’s usman leon 2. Good grief.

Depends, it's difficult to know how much Stipe has left. That version of Stipe who got KO'd by Ngannou would beat current washed up Jones, but Stipe has aged 2 years from that.

I don’t see Jones 1 shot KOing any version of Stipe with a short punch from the inside.

Hey, anything’s possible though.

You mean the Stipe who got ko'ed by Cormier, who Jones toyed with on two different occasions?

I'm curious how Jones is supposed to finish Stipe. By KO? Unless Jones' weight gain and lifting regimen has increased his power exponentially, I find that unlikely. By sub? It may not be widely known, but Stipe has a reputation among those in a position to know of being nearly impossible to submit. I can see maybe he gets him down and rains hellbows, or else an oblique kick wrecks one of Stipe's questionable knees. But I'm not persuaded by most of your guys' analysis, which is no better than "Jones great, Stipe old".

What you say makes sense. But I think Joens is just an overall better fighter and finds a way to get it done. He's better than DC who Stipe waged a back-and-forth three part war with.

I know I'm falling into the MMA math fallacy with that reasoning, but Jones is the ultimate villain. Sometimes evil always finds a way. Your prediction could very well play out, though, you'll look smart if it does.

Can't argue with that.

I still think it's an exciting fight, and I think both of them have an equivalent chance to win.

For sure I will be watching it!

Not a Jones fan at all but Stipe is washed and old. Jones finishes him quickly.

Hopefully Stipe hangs em up before he takes too much damage - he's got his legacy secured, better to enjoy life with family now. Get that last pay day and call it a career, please!

Stipe’s chin might be toast after that Ngannou loss. He’s just too hittable and now he’s old and battle damaged on top of it.

I’d be shocked if Jones doesn’t finish him.

I’m still peeved that Stipe is getting yet another title shot without doing anything but I get Jones wanting the fight for legacy.

He will lose one day, and it will happen to someone we expect him to walk over. And after it happens he will never be the same. happens to all the greats
It will never happen he isn't just great he is the greatest fighter ever he is different

I voted "Yes" as it was my first impulse, since I want Jones to win, but after reading some comments I just looked up a highlight video of Stipe to remind myself of him, and I think there is a huge chance he finishes Jones if he's still somewhat the fighter he was. He's big, deceptively fast, great boxing, solid ground game, solid cardio, solid heart.... Jones is hittable on the feet against guys close to his size and Stipe can put the pressure when he smells that his opponent is hurt.
Jones obviously has great qualities himself but he lacks the boxing and punching power. He probably can make up for it with his kicks, but we don't really know how he's going to move around, since the fight against Gane was such a mismatch.
Very intriguing fight, I may have to stream it lol

Decision fight.

Why are whitebelts & new accounts allowed to start threads?

Yeah I actually agree dude. I think Jon Jones is not gonna go into a fight that he isn't confident he can win and if a guy with fight IQ as high as his believes he's going to win he's going to win. He will retire before fighting someone with amazing TDD and great striking if he starts to feel his physical attributes going too low to win

It's actually quiet sad that the UFC HW division is so weak now with Jon Jones entering the game. Hopefully the new generations will prove themselves. Fighting 43 year old Stipe or whatever don't feel that exciting

Should go a few rounds.. But I think Jones finishes the fight by TKO or sub..
