Will Fedor fight like this against Chael Sonnen?

Ishii is roughly the same size that i picture Chael will be coming into this fight, and posseses a similar skillset as well, perhaps less proficient in both wrestling and striking but close enough no less to get a picture of how Fedor might approach this.

Fedor starts out by getting a feel for distance with his right straight, once he starts connecting with it then the feint to combos start coming. He doesnt throw any singular kicks that can be grabbed. This is a great plan if it stays standing long enough for fedor to catch an offensive rythym however, I predict Sonnen going for a takedown right away, so Fedor must work his TDD extra hours for this one to get his instincts and reaction time up. He must beware of Chaels bread and butter moves, like the jab and right straight into double and single leg TDs and have a punishment prepared for the stuffs and transitions.

Sonnen and Fedor are both pressure fighters. Sonnen will make it difficult for Fedor to feel him out. I’m expecting a brawl with intermittent takedowns/clinches.

As witnessed in his latest fight vs rampage, Chael improved and is using more types of attacks now, . I think Chael got his confidence up seeing how fat , slow and out of shape quinton looked so he summed up the courage to use his new toolset of strikes, but his high output in round 1 tired him out and we didn’t see that again in rounds 2 and 3, by round 3 you could tell that Chael was wilting and eating a lot of rampages shots and was a good hit or two away from entering panic mode. Fedor should take note of this and not stop looking to overwhelm him the whole time. He is bound to eat something that can floor him.

If Chael comes out like that vs fedor I’m sure fedor catch him with a punch that’ll make Chael flip the switch into defensive mode. Fedor can’t let this go to the ground unless he is on top, he has always left too much daylight and people have been able to escape quickly from his advantageous positions.
