I have a hard time seeing Cyborg being proficient in closing the distance on Holly because she does so mainly with her hands and Holly keeps distance with her kicks.

Cyborg probably has a lot better groundgame but I also find it hard to believe that she will do some sort of Edgar-esque performance when that haven't been her forte in so many fights

2 fighters regarded as lesser than Cyborg were able to do it, why can't Cyborg? Also both Germaine and Nunes refused to fight cyborg and they both have better striking than Holm. Shevchenko is a striker and took Holm down 3 times. Holy is a ridiculous underdog and she should be. I don't even know how good Cyborg is yet but im pretty confident she is better than 1-3 Holm who looked like an amateur against Bethe.

I really see no way of Holm winning it. Even if Cyborg's gameplan is to rush & steamroll, she should be overwhelmed by the agression.

That Holly kick to the head is more nostalgic wishful thinking than a solid possibility against Cyborg.

Lets wait and see, and welcome whatever surprises happen.

She is good at closing the distance and very calculated especially with her more patient style the last few years. She has good defense in general and is great at getting her opponents against the cage.Of course she could get head kicked,Holly is good at it, but so could anyone, this is a reach. So kicking is the only way to be proficient at closing the distance against a kicker?I don't get it.

Holly is just hard to close the distance on for anyone but Cyborg's style and skillset doesn't make her worse stylistically against Holly than other fighters, probably better as she won't be just staring at her run around. If anything Holly will have a hard time getting any head kicks off with Cyborg in her face for what I expect to be all lot of the time.

On paper Cyborg all day but I think Holly actually matches up well.

Aggressive brawler vs counter punching southpaw

Sounds a lot like Leben vs Anderson

If Holly can keep the angle and keep up the speed of her escapes it will help her set up that finishing kick. She'll have to deal with the shit crowd's booing for awhile but it's what she has to do .

I just put a small bet on Holm for rounds 3/4/5. The odds are unreal considering the stylistic matchup- I truly, truly doubt she puts Cyborg out in rd 1, and the longer the fight goes the more likely it is that Holm starts to frustrate and pull Cyborg into a sick counter.

Coenen and Carano are not on Holm's level. Neither of them are that good. Cyborg hasn't had a real test yet in the Octagon, and that's why people are betting on Holm- Holm has been up against some far better opposition and we know what she's made of. We don't know that about Cyborg yet, and the odds don't reflect it.

And in case anyone needs reminding- Holly was maybe a 10-1 dog against Rousey? And that was purely to win the fight, not by round or finish or anything else.

lol easy win for cyborg here.

The booing will be mixed with the Woooing.

I think Holly is the toughest matchup for Cyborg of all the girls in the world. She has great kickboxing, And is a real fighter with a lot of experience in big fights. Cyborg is not very patient, And Holly is good at taking advantage of mistakes And sloppyness. Holly is also just as big as Cyborg, And have the same reach.

I am rooting for Cyborg, but I believe this can go either way. Yes, Cyborg can make a mistake And run into something.

I think you'll see the difference between fat non strikers and monstrous, refined strikers in this fight.

I'll be disappointed if Holly isn't pounded into a bloody mess.

Jon Jones eye pokes, those filthy JWink kicks to the inside of the knee, then the head kick as Cris limps blindly around the cage ...... fight dirty Holly, even USADA will forgive you.

I agree 100% with this, in fact I have just placed $100 at 8/1 on Holm to win via TKO / KO / DQ in any round and $50 on round 3 and $50 on round 4 for TJO / KO

(Betting slip will be added when mate gets back from the bookies)
