If the reported rematch between Diaz and McGregor goes ahead do you think the UFC will strip Connor of his FW title. Should they?

Personally I think 2 consecutive fights outside of your division is too many to keep the belt. It is essentially killing the FW division.

If this rematch does go ahead, which I hope it won't, I hope the UFC strips Connor and maybe Edgar vs Aldo for the vacant belt....possibly also at UFC 200.

I don't think conor would care as he'd get a title fight if he goes back to 145 either way.

Yes they should.

Aldo vs Frankie for the FW belt would make sense.

Even if he fights Diaz then goes back to FW he'll still be defending it more often than Aldo did.

They're probably gonna just do a Frankie Aldo interm so they can sell it as another title fight.

20% of the posters here came before they made it past, 'stripped'.

If he fights 3 months after 200 that's only October, 10 months since he won the belt.

A lot of champs only defend once a year, seems fine and there's really only Frankie he needs to beat at FW.

Dude can't make the weight anymore. Either his body is going to stop him from making weight or his ego. He spent the last 2 years calling the guys at FWs midgets. He finally fights someone 155lbs, with no weight cut, and he gets choked out. All of a sudden everyone is talking shit about him fighting midgets and now his pride is going to keep him from going back and defending a title that people feel he won because of a size advantage.

Plus if he has 4 months to bulk up for the Diaz rematch at 170 getting back down to 145 will be damn near impossible. I think he's done at 145.

Most likely he's done at 145, but I'll wait to see if he defends. If he says he's done then strip him. But he won it about 4 months ago. Cain didn't defend for over a year after he won. He wasn't stripped.

I really don't like the FW belt being on hold right now, however, so far Conor has proven to be an active figther, if it's good or bad for him, you be the judge, but if there would be a delay for the next FW title fight, I doubt that we would need to wait long, I'm one of those that thinks Conor should fight Edgar next, but even though it seems unlikely, I think Conor is reckless as shit, and it wont be long before he defends the belt.

I really don't think his mentallity is healthy, alot of wear and tear, or whatever it's called, but I fuckin love fighters who says "screw it" and takes whatever fight possible, Conor has basically saved atleast 2 cards.

And I cringe and flail my mother every time he speaks, but damn! he is a fun fighter.

I don't flail my mother, it was a joke, and even if would try she would manhandle me like horsemeat Reem....

Where did you see the fight would be at 170??
It would make all the sense in the world to do the fight at 155lbs.
If Conor wins at 155, he defends against Frankie at 145 not long after, and it also sets up the tie-breaker in a trilogy with Diaz down the road - whether he wins the Frankie fight or not.
If Conor loses at 155, he still has the FW belt and is still marketable as the champion, but he learns to live the rest of his days at 145.

Do people not realise that no matter what weight Conor is fighting at he's still fighting in the UFC? The UFC are gladly booking him in these fights to make money off him, why would they strip him when ultimately its the UFC's choice what division he fights in?

Fw was dead before conor. The guy is attempting something great and is making the ufc a ton of money. He will defennd the belt before the end of the year.

Hasn't Conor asked for it at 170 again?

why would they strip him when they are the ones booking the fights? this thread is ridiculous

And at least he's still fighting. Sick of goons like Cain and Weidman who will find any and every excuse not to fight.
