Some people have mentioned Holly and Ronda possibly having trouble making 135 with the new 'within 8% of target weight week of the fight' rule, but Gadelha is reputed to cut more water weight than them at a lower division with less leeway. Can she possibly make 124 lbs or whatever it is Tuesday of fight week without being significantly dehydrated, or will she have to vacate the title and move up to a new FLW division immediately after beating Joanna (if she does)?

Yes. The rest of that division is far behind her and Joanna.

NO, she won't win the belt anyway, when you're going up against an aggressive elite striker the last thing you need is a susceptibility to KOs due to the lack of hydration and we all know their camp is known for being extremely reliant on the now banned IVs, unless she has left Nova Uniao I don't see anything good happening for her.

I don't think she can beat Joanna. And it will have been about 11 months since her last fight. The fight before that was the loss to Joanna.

But I think Val would kick her ass in a rematch from 2012. That's who I'd like to see her fight after Joanna beats her.

Isn't this also likely to be a problem for Joanna? She fought at flyweight before coming to the UFC.

I think she'll be fine. Claudia certainly isn't fat at her 140 lb peak weight but she has enough of it to drop about 12 lbs and another 4 lbs from lean mass (muscle and water). She'll then dehydrate the rest and weigh-in at the earliest date possible to rehydrate.

Less so since Joanna walks around about 10 lbs less, Claudia is basically fem Barao.

NO, and she will not win it. Especially with the new rules.

The new weight cut policy will have minimal impact. You'll just see fighters doing two cuts. If she wins, she'll be fine.

If Rose gets the title shot, she'll beat her. But an instant rematch wouldn't surprise me...
