will bellatormma add men's flyweight division?

Its not necessary really. The UFC flyweight division is weak enough as it is.

Other than the occassional prelim fight between locals I don't see this happening.

Flyweights are not draws. Viator needs ratings and flyweights will not bring them. Promoting the 125 division would just take slots on the card away from their own name fighters. And with the UFC having the division on near lock down in terms of talent (with some exceptions), it'd be useless.

They can slowly build some prospects, but i will wait to see what happens with the UFC flyweights in the next two years to have a complete veredict over this.
A belt for the division in Bellator may not happen

They're going in the opposite direction. They'll add super heavyweight before flyweight.

Theres two sides to this really , the ufc flyweight division is already not incredibly deep but if you build your own flyweight prospects and continue to add to the division (not like what they have done with womens featherweight) then who knows maybe 3 years down the line bellator would have a even better flyweight division then the ufc

Seems like a bad idea; so they'll probably do it.

They arent and shouldnt and wont because it would be dumb.

UFC has all the best Flyweights and one of the best in the world if not the P4P best and nobody cares.

WSOF tried and ended up letting their champ and top prospect go off to Russia cause they couldnt build a div.

What makes anyone think Bellator is different? They do the one off fights with regional guys to sell tickets, thats all it is.

Like Pitbull Menga will fight I assume at 125 in UK on that card but after that if he gets another fight it will probably be another prelim fight or he'd have to move to BW if he's gonna stick around long term.

THey already have a BW div that has no depth so why add a div with nobody else in it.

Honestly show me what a Fly div in Bellator looks like right now.

Even if they signed everyone they could the div would be

Pantoja, Pitbull Menga, Danger Schnell and who else?

Lets even say they can get a few UFC guys who were cut, Nobre or Tim Elliot though I'm sure some of these guys are gonna be on TUF season coming up so they wouldnt even get alot of these guys.

SO yeah there is no div to actually build.

I'd like it. Flyweight's arguably the most underrated division in the sport (it's that or strawweight.) I'd like to see Bellator add it and have American fighters have more options outside of the UFC, going international or moving up to bantamweight. All they need's a marketable champion, and there're some exciting guys they could promote into a good little profit. Hideo Tokoro fought at flyweight for a little while there, and if he became their champion and produced some wars or finishes, the division would get some interest.
If Joe Warren even dropped down to flyweight [he walks around at 145, which's what a good amount of high-level flyweights walk around at, and he looked a good bit smaller than Davis and Caldwell in his last two fights, so Warren at flyweight could be feasible], the division would immediately become profitable. Will Campuzano's a good, underrated, entertaining fighter, and him as a champion could get Bellator that Latino dollar.
Then again, I like the little guys more- and care about rankings less than a lot of other people, but I still think the division could be good for Bellator.

Campuzano and Warren dropping down, thats your big Fly div? And you actually think this is something they should do?

When Womens FW div is deeper than a mens Bellator FLy div you know its not something you should do.

They dont even have a flyweight division as im sure you know, i mean its all a matter of effort if they went and signed prospects away from tuf season and take vets like tim eliot and damcio page, they already have darren uyenoyama under contract if they actually tryed to build the division then it could be nice! But if they put the same effort that they did into their womens feather weight division then yeah it would horrible , and im willing to bet most wouldnt say that womens featherweight is deeper then mens flyweight

Bellator needs to concentrate on strengthening the divisions they already have rather than introducing another weight class they're not going to invest properly in.

Bellator should ink some MW's and some BW's first, then i wouldn't be upset if they add the Flyweights.
Coker has done a decent job with HW signing Mitrione, Kharitonov, Jhonson and others, so I'm going to give him more time for this other 2 divisions, with luck they can add the FYW's in two years

is there a freakshow match they can make at FW? that would greatly increase the odds

I thought UFC would be getting lots of Asian and Latino talent being as they excel in smaller weight classes. I thought more crossovers from Muay Thai etc. would happen.
