Will bare knuckle events be banned?

I would say a ban seems very unlikely. If anything States/Commissions appear to be loosing boundaries a bit.

Matchmaking and fighter protocols seem more at issue here. Well as well as the "occurrence".

Look if you ever boxed you would know how fragile hands are. The wrappings and gloves are there to protect the hands.

Frankly guys fighting bare knuckle won't punch too hard for fear of breaking their hands. The bones in the skull are much more durable than the bones in the hand. Not saying the brain won't suffer but bone to bone contact, hands lose every time. Just go ask Vitor Belfort.

Perhaps I was a bit off with my comment, what I really meant is that I think it's a myth that gloves are there ONLY to protect the hands.

Most injuries are probably coming from catching part of the fist on a target. So you can't just throw power shots without fear of repurcussion. On the other hand if a power shot lands flush on a target which admittedly isn't really easy to ensure, it could potentially be more damaging than gloves. Boxers don't condition there fist bare knuckle. Huge calcified knuckles can take great punishment.

Fair enough. The tape and gloves are also there to stabilize the wrists as well. When I started boxing, I can't remember how many times I sprained my wrists when a punch went off angle. eventually the muscles get built up there but the tape and glove bindings reinforce it.

BKFC will almost certainly be shut down. They'll be sued into Bolivian for letting this happen, as will the athletic commission. To save face, the AC will blame BKFC for making the fight and that will be that. The organization will be banned and likely some states will ban bare-knuckle fights completely.
. Sued into Bolivian. lol. That made me laff

Hopefully not. It's been way more exciting (minus Derrick Lewis) lately. Sorry I find the ground game to be unbelievably boring.

Gloves allow for a greater accumulation of damage though. One powerful gloveless shot may put a fighter out for awhile, but a gloved fighter can throw just a little lighter and land 20 more shots at that same power without breaking their hand.

I think a big problem in boxing is the lack of fist and wrist conditioning. So many boxers have never thrown a punch without wearing hand wraps and gloves to prevent injury. The status quo seems to be that boxers shouldn't train without wrapping and protecting their hands, but this greatly slows down conditioning of the hands.

Thronton died of pneumonia, BKFC is ready for action brotha, yeuhhhhhh
