Wild scenario - if Conor pulled this stunt, would it help launch his own promotion successfully?

For the sake of this fantasy, let's imagine Conor defends his FW title successfully until his contract is almost up. During his last defense before he has to renew, he loses in a manner that is suspicious but can't be proven to be a dive (eg. he attacks only with jabs, then falls down from the first punch the opponent lands and taps to the ensuing GnP). At the live presser immediately after, he starts mouthing off to Dana, then punches him in the face. He might have to serve jail time, but it probably wouldn't be much since he won't likely kill or seriously injure Dana with one punch (he can also hold back since the intent is create buzz and not put DW in the hospital), and he can also afford good lawyers. Assume also that he never says anything about this to anyone beforehand so it can't be proven to be preplanned. Afterwards of course he refuses to renew his contract and starts his own promotion which he sells as a rebellion against the tyranny of the UFC over MMA. Obviously his professional reputation would suffer, but would the insane buzz from something like this be enough to create significant interest in his promotion?

...or would the Ferittas have a hitman off Conor for such brazen defiance? lol

Why is it so inconceivable to think about? If he doesn't hurt Dana badly he'll probably get off with a slap on the wrist legally and the buzz would be beyond anything seen in MMA before... negative buzz granted, but still.

Obviously it would take balls the size of Ireland to go through with such a stunt, but that's why it's a fantasy scenario.
