Haidar told Global News that she wanted to use her first day as a Canadian citizen to raise awareness about the plight of women forced to abide by Sharia, or traditional Islamic law..

“As a Canadian who was born in Saudi Arabia under laws of Sharia where human rights are non-existent, I realised the power mysognist men [have] over powerless women with no rights.

As a refugee in Quebec and Canada I have noticed the fast growth of Islamist groups loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Saudi clergy imposing the Burqa and enforcing Niqab on girls and women as political flags to mark jihadi territory.

Nowhere in Islam is a woman required to cover her face. This is medievalist mysoginy [sic] that treats women as animals and property of men and shamed into attire that befits slavery, not humanity.

It is for this reason that on the first day as a Canadian I have raised the issue of banning the Burqa and Niqab in Ontario as I feel Premier Ford is a man who will listen to my plea and end the war by deception being waged by Islamists against Canadian values.”

Really dug what she said, very courageous woman here Canada got a winner in the fight of political Islam.. Love my country of Canada, hopefully she educates a lot of people on the dangers of Islam

was in london for a few days. People in lawn furniture everywhere.

Good for her Islameck Apologists will surely be pissed and get a heart attack.

Religious freedom in Canada means that there are no state-sponsored religions and that the government cannot prefer some religious beliefs or groups over others. Similarly, religious belief cannot be preferred to non-belief. CCLA strives to ensure that any restrictions on freedom of religion are necessary and minimally intrusive and that our public institutions treat all individuals equally, regardless of religious affiliation.

Nothing exposes the intellectual bankruptcy of western feminism more thoroughly than their supine response to an actual patriarchal, rape culture.

Very interesting.

You don't see this as an attack on religious freedom?

I think the government banning burqas is wrong. If the government doesn't want burqas, which I would agree with, then they should stop allowing Muslim immigration. But if you allow Muslims to live in your country, you should allow them to live in your country as Muslims.

Does the burka make the muslim?

So you do not believe in freedom of religion?

So we are going to outlaw costumes now? So much for small government conservatives....

And I hate burkas, every time I see them I think, ughh how oppressive. But I don’t see how the government has any place forcing a women to not wear a burka.

Here is an idea, maybe this just of the boat immigrant should not be telling Canadians to give up freedoms becuase her country is a “shithole”. Actually I am just being an ass here, she can have her say.

And I am all for bashing sharia as well. To add adherents of fundamentalism should not be the first choice of immigrants, but I am not for stripping away fundamental rights to fight some problem that does not exist. How many burka wearers exists in Canada?

Yea it makes me vomit dayglo... They listen to Linda Sarsour before her or Ayaan Hirsi Ali ffs

any reason her opinion should matter?

and in any case, per the article,

"Quebec’s Bill 62, which came into law in October, doesn’t specifically mention burqas or niqabs, but forbids people from covering their faces while providing and receiving public services."

so, ...ya

It would be worse if these women didn't get raped where they come from for showing hair or skin.

Ontario not Quebec

I think Banning the full face Veil is a good idea. In a big city the full-face veils a security concern.

Ontario not Quebec

ah.

so just back to wondering why her opinion matters. id rather an OP make the opinion their own, and explain it. no need for randoms, celebs, or "pundits" or whatever they should be called. i'd rather not discuss or argue with someone who's not even involved in the thread.
