Why'd Rogan Talk Schaub Into Retirement?

Cause friends. Brendan looked pathetic vs Rondas Husband. The way he shakes while getting hit. Got KOd vs Zombie Nog. Ktfod one punch vs Roy. He is the type of.guy to get KOd a lot. Funny KO vs Big Ben. 4 KO losses in what, 12 fights ?
His "hybrid" style was great tbh, look at the heavyweight division now lol, he could be UFC champion!

Joe Rogan is 5ft3 and terrified of real fighting tbh, he thinks dancing around with Taekwondo shoes on is real NHB.

4 KO losses in 5 years isn't that bad. Theres dudes who have taken way more damage who continue fighting. Why did Rogan have "the talk" with Schaub about quitting fighting? Dude had a decent punch.
Schaub already had one foot out the door prior to retirement.

This was a big part of the issue.

You cannot compete at the highest level unless you are in 100%

If Schaub didn't already find a career in podcasting and outside the cage endeavors, he could've been a serviceable heavyweight that stuck around.

He had reasonable skills everywhere.

But, I think Rogan knew that he was destined for a few big knockouts, and ultimately, it made very little sense to go down that route if he could pursue a career outside of fighting and still become a millionaire without taking blows for a living.

What Rogan did is what most of you guys should expect of your friends, who actually care about you and your future. It was a bro move and he saved Schaub from decades of unnecessary struggle.

Rogan was nationally ranked in TKD and champion several times. He was extremely high level.

How exactly was he terrified of "real fighting"

MMA didn't even exist when Rogan was in his prime.

People like you talk all kinds of shit but you'd get busted up by a random nobody at the bar.

Humble yourself bum.

Someone should have had this talk with Johnny Walker, and they should have had it last decade for Darren Elkins.

Kinda worried about those guys.

He wasn't very good.
Think Big Brown made the right decision.
He was just becoming a a meme feeder.

We only saw Schaub in the cage, or on podcasts. Him and Joe were friends when the cameras were off and clearly he saw things that we didn't. I know it's fun to shit on Schaub and Rogan. But when you spend time with friends you see how seriously they take things, how they feel about their career. You can see if they're really putting 100% into it or not. And that's fine when your friend does accounting, but he saw his friend wearing too many hats, while getting punched in the head by the best HW's in the world and did the right thing.

You've listened to the podcast, right?

Rogan laid out his case, and years later you're making a thread asking what his case was?

And yes, 4 KO losses is BAD.

He was ok fighter but at HW strikes hard. Safer for his brain long term to do other entertainment which he had enough aptitude. Rest of his body also takes less damage too knees shoulders etc…

No matter what you say about Schaub as a Podcaster or comedian he's made a living for himself and probably doing better than being a fighter. Could you imagine him against Cain, Werdum, Miocic, Pav, Gane, Francis, Aspinall, etc. Even Tuivasa would probably KO him

He peaked as a fighter imo
I think you'd be surprised.

There was absolutely no point in Schaub continuing to fight. He was never gonna fight for or win a title, he was making more money podcasting than he was from fighting. The only thing to be gained from fighting was accumulating more KO losses and CTE.

Funniest thing was when he tried to argue against and he was like "yeah but I KO'd Crocop" and Rogan was like "that was not the real k1 killer Crocop"

Because his fighting skills are as good as his stand-up comedy skills.
