Why WWE is more famous than UFC and MMA in General

Most WWE events are free and the WWE youtube channel offers a lot of quality content if you’re a WWE fan. UFC is spaced out into different language markets and social media profiles, etc.

Pro Wrestling used to be awesome when it was larger than life characters who fit the mold of bad asses. Even an average sherdogger would think twice of scrapping with a member of the Legion of Doom in their heyday. Who tf would want to scrap with 6ft 3 & 275lbs of muscle? Nowadays these wimps (AEW primarily) look no more imposing than the fans that cheer them on. Nerd culture has taken hold of rasslin like a plague, sadly enough.

Only thing I can stomach is Billy Corgan's NWA reboot as it's promoted as how wrestling was booked in yesteryear. (I did click on a WWE video earlier this evening, only because Alexa Bliss was in the thumbnail. The two minutes that unfolded were borderline unwatchable. I'm talking Logan Paul unwatchable.) Vince needs to step down and let HHH takeover or their ratings are going to be in Crapper 3:16.

1. wwe has been around much longer
2. wwe caters to families ie kids and such so their target audience covers more ground
3. marketing, whatever is mainstream they stick their nose in it and follow along not to mention pandering to actors, musicians, athletes, anything to get a rub, they been doing that a LONG time now
4. more global stars, the Rock alone is bigger than anything in the UFC and even if he isn't with wwe anymore people know him as a wrestler
5. getting access to wwe content is A LOT cheaper than ufc thanks to their network

mma and contact sports in general will always be niche because not everyone is into "violence" people rather watch a ball get tossed around

I don't buy the kids thing. Yes, kids will watch the free shows on tv, but they don't have the money to get the ppvs. Maybe pressure on parents to get them to fork out but in general I'd say a parent isn't going to throw money on a ppv and at least not watch or have some sort of interest in the show

The WWE moved away from the PPV model years ago. They are all included with the WWE network which is $10 a month.

Most of those subscribers are probably from 3rd world countries. For some reason it seems to be massive abroad. Maybe cause they haven't been introduced to UFC properly yet.

Some people don't understand this. Most people don't enjoy watching violence. Vince has spent 20 years trying to make pro wrestling more like a traveling actor troop performance rather than an athletic competition.

"How can I promote a champion if I don't know when he's going to win or lose?"

- Vince Kennedy McMahon

Because 'Murica, fuck yeah.

In europe WWE isn't that big but still much bigger than ufc..
Well i cant talk for big eu countries, but in Balkan region wwe is non existent.
I went in our torrent site and nobody is downloading wwe ,while you still have uploaders for ufc 5 years back. If you ask me, i only know hulk hogan, but never watched events, just remember the posters and albums from early 90.

Outside of the USA and perhaps Japan and Mexico I really doubt it is. Fake wrestling is really niche in Europe, at least it is in Sweden. It exists but it's like a special interest. In comparison MMA is pretty niche as well must most young men who are interested in sports know about Conor, Gustafsson, etc

I mean Seriously the subscribers for WWE is almost 68M and the UFC is only 10.2M why is that We all know that WWE is Fake and UFC /MMA is real
Think about it this way. The movie industry is huge, yet almost all of it is scripted and fake. But it's presented in an entertaining way. Likewise, WWE is scripted and fake, but it's also presented in an entertaining way. People enjoy entertainment.

It's essentially children's entertainment that also has a weird cult-like adult following. Think of it like comparing the Marvel movies to MMA.

Fact is, a huge portion of society will always be repulsed by men fighting in a cage.

WWE viewers are indians and theres a billion of those mothafuckas
