Why would they fight him anyway if the strap wasn't on the line

If they did beat him on short notice Conor would still be the champ and they would have to face him again

If they lose there goes their title shot versus Conor

Why would they take such a big risk and potentially lose the title shot that they want

Money would be the only reason to take that fight
