Why were people so stoked for Conor/Nate 2 anyway?

I'm all for watching Conor get choked out but to watch Nate beat him in convincing fashion again, in a fight that will not be worth a belt again, and as the main event for ufc 200? I don't get it. It's not even a worthy co-main event imo.

I'd personally MUCH, MUCH rather see a title fight in any of the divisions.

In this case the story, the rise or fall of Conor, is more interesting than who is the champion imo. And yes that is because i am a victim of the Zuffa/UFC/Conor hype machine. I admit it.

I dislike conor just as much as the next guy, but I don't see what's so great about kicking a dead dog. Conor/Nate 1 was great to take Conor and his fanboys down a peg. And that should be that. Nate is clearly a better fighter, Conor is a proven hypocrite and panic wrestler. All is well with the world. The balance of yin and yang has been restored. No need for a repeat.

Conor needs to defend his belt, the whole idea of Conor/Nate was already pretty ridiculous and Conor/Nate 2 goes beyond ridiculous.

Nate's still Nate. I like the guy, but like you said, if he fights RDA again he'll get mauled again. He shouldn't be headlining ufc 200 just because he beat a guy that any top 10 LW would.

I was genuinely excited before they announced the fight, thinking he would fight Edgar next. The only thing good about the fight was that Nate was going to get paid, and a guy who called Zuffa out a lot was going to be in the spotlight. At 155 I would have been slightly intrigued, at 170 a rematch. No thanks.

Conor will be back, imo this is a ploy from him and the ufc because they knew Nate was a horrible fight and would ruin him. It's staged and even though this fight was getting some love from his prepubescent fans on social media the ufc were getting called out a lot.

He will be back on 6 to 12 months.
