Joe Hogan isn't scared to talk to Cyborg, that's not his way, he'll talk to anyone. He knows how to handle himself like a pro inside the octagon, when he is doing that job.

Joe is also at the point in his commentating career where he's put in enough time in the UFC, if he wants to take off for his daughter's birthday, bless him, he's earned it. The UFC has enough commentators-in-training hanging around, I'm sure they don't care.

Probably a combination of factors, customs, daughter's birthday, and looking Cyborg in the eye would be awkward. I really like his podcast but he seems to have no common-sense filter when talking to women or about female fighters. Who knows what freudian or hormone-caused shit is going on in his head.
