According to Dana Golberg and Rogan, Nate Diaz has been training for a triathlon and was in phenomenal shape. But Nate Diaz said in the post fight interviews that he was chillin on the beaches in Cabo with a friend when he received the call from the UFC.

IMO they were setting him up to lose. The UFC didnt think he would lose to a out of shape Diaz. They didnt want anyone to discredit a Conor win so they made up this crap.

Glad he ruined their plans.

To make sure people tuned in for the fight. The funny part is that Nate won the fight largely because of his superior cardio. Imagine if he had been training for 6-weeks.

Dana will lie about something even when he doesn't have to though.

Yeah but if Conor won, Dana would say that Nate was in the best shape of his life and Conor just went right trough him.

All those conspiracy theories are just bullshit. What's next? The UFC set Holly to fight Miesha so she could win and now they know Rousey can be champ again?? This is just nonsensical speculations.

There was probably a grain of truth in there somewhere, like he is going to do one in September or something. Then they just took it and turned it into shit to sell a fight.

Obviously the UFC wanted to keep building Conor as their biggest star, and probably wanted to head off the same type of short-camp excuses that plagued his win over Chad Mendes. Ironic the way that the cardio issue ended up playing out in this fight....

Lol Indeed

Dana and Joe will say literally anything to hype a fight. I'm damn worried about Nate's drug test if he was "chillin on the beach with a friend"…..that's Diaz code for ripping bong hits.

First thing is Dana was against the fight against Miesha because the rematch for Holly vs Rousey would be huge. Second is you must be crazy if you dont think that the UFC is not protecting their cashcows.

Nate's always training

hopefully Nate passes the drug tests

how the hell would you sell the fight otherwise, you have to make it seem like the fight is going to be compelling - people like us know not to believe that, but they make a huge point to keep saying it over and over so people just have a false impression of the fight upcoming

mendes being from team alpha male let the small brain folks think he'd be in fight shape bc 'well hes from team alpha male' - you need that sht to sell the fight - notice how after the fight, lots of conor guys are talking about how the 'short camp' is a joke and all that - you just need to give those guys some ammo and they will yell and scream it as if its fact

They're doing it very wrong then, since both lost recently.

well he is a fight promoter... that is pretty much part of his job. Sell fights, by whatever means necessary, lying is one of them.

You've already answered your own question.

Thats b/c he was chillin on beaches after a rigorous 2 mile ocean swim in shark infested waters and 10 mile sand run

they should have given connor cerrone. who accepted the fight

but they thought he would be in shape and it would be to risky, so they gave him a 10 day diaz and it backfired.

im not sure how well donald would have handled the first round onslaught.. probly not as well as diaz

So you can't chill on a beach between training sessions?

Well to be fair, Nick Diaz was participating in a triathlon shortly after the fight between Nate and Conor was announced.
