Seems like Lyoto and other guy could have stayed on card if UFC staff specifically checked their vitamin list months ago and told them you no can take this thing. One of these days, a bunch of top guys are going to be removed from same card at last minute.

Lyoto wouldn't have gotten pulled from the card if he'd checked his own vitamin list months ago. What's the UFC supposed to do, a just for funzies drug test before the real drug test?

They have the banned substances listed clearly. It's a fighters responsibility to check their own vitamin list.

Clearly UFC staff needs to do it or else waste fans money spent on travel and hotel and filling out vacation request forms.

i believe the UFC has a list of approved supplements as well. i know the NFL/NBA/MLB do.

but even if the UFC does it probably is composed to supplement makers that paid them. if you wanna read some messed up stuff google Orrin Hatch and the supplement industry in general.

Because UFC is owned by stupid amateuristic people

Anyone can download the banned substance list.

because the fighters are responsible for what they put in their body, not the UFC

the fighters are wasting the fans money by not checkign what they are taking in.

The fighters are independent contractors. Its there job to know this shit.

Because there is a banned substance list and the UFC shouldn't have to babysit grown men.

Thats the job of the fighter/coach/manager, I know the fighter and the manager got a copy of the list.

Why is the concept of personal responsibility so hard to understand?

If Ali Abdel Aziz spent less time on twitter and more time monitoring his fighters maybe he wouldnt have two currently suspended :D

It's not an issue of the fighters ultimately should be responsible. It's an issue of you know if you leave it in the hands of the... fighters, they will screw up your card at the last minute, so you need to take extra measures just like how UFC needed extra measures just to make sure Nick Diaz got on the fucking airplane.

Didn't UFC in the past have a last minute replacement on hand in case of Karo Parisyan's panic attacks at last minute?

Nick Diaz agrees with you, "he didn't go to school for that"

UFC is a fight promotion, not a regulatory, licensing body.
