Was it the hype of the moment or did people genuinely think RDA was an easy fight for Conor ?
Not taking anything away from him, i do hate his fans but that's about it. He's a great fighter, great style and all, but did he show anything at any point that made you believe RDA would also fall to him ?

RDA is flying right now, i don't know how he will come back from injury, but his improvement is beyond impressive, a guy that started as a grappler with very poor striking, putting pressure on guys that everyone praise as elite strikers, what does that tell you ? I remember someone saying he has atrocious striking with hooks only, If with hooks only and knee injury he could dominate Pettis, why he wouldn't with Conor ?

IMO his style is an even worse match up than Nate Diaz. RDA has way more weapons in his arsenal, He's probably the second best grappler in LW (Khabib being the first) + a true BJJ Black Belt. Where's the RDA praise ? the guys was probably the underdog in the original 196 main event. Aside from Khabib, not many LW show signs of stopping that guy, and Conor probably wants a belt if he vacates the 145 one and i bet RDA would be the target.

I really had no idea who would win. I couldnt confidently say.

i will never understand how some people did think he was going to beat RDA.

Mcgregor knocked out a p4p goat and stopped his win streak. I guess that is enough for people to think he can beat rda, including me. I still think conor could defeat RDA.

Tbh I don't see RDA losing anytime soon.
Not event the Khabib Rematch...

But sometimes I'm wrong ...

That's the kind of people i wanted to reach with this thread. care to elaborate more on why Conor beating a p4p great means he will beat a probably future p4p great ?

I kept saying after the foot injury losing to Nate was probably the worst/best thing to happen to Conor. You think he's gone radio silence now, that beating from RDA would've required viewer warning before showing you highlights...

Not sure what you mean. He knocked out Aldo... Are you saying it's impossible for him to knock out RDA?

It happen all the time.

Wonderboy KO Hendricks, HE IS THE NEXT CHAMP.
JDS was done before the Rothwell fight.
The list go on and on.

We get excited quickly.
Even more on sherdog.

I thought RDA will be a very tough fight for him because of his takedowns and grappling ability, I thought if RDA can get him down like Chad could then he could maybe submit him or win a decision.

RDA wouldve finished Conor in the first round. He wouldve stepped on the gas the moment the ref said go and not let Conor tee off like Nate did.

Anything could happen. More times than not, RDA wins in my opinion. The odds are in RDA's favor to turn the fight into a grappling match, as opposed to Conor getting the KO. A guy like Conor, I think he has some ko victories in his future, but also some submission or even gnp defeats as well. Too many guys at LW that will simply outgrapple him.

I thought it all depended on if he was in RDA's head or not.
Honestly I think Conor have more chance against RDA now, than in a rematch against Nate.

Not impossible at all but based on Conor's last performance highly improbable. Seeing how Dos Anjos grounded Diaz the same one Conor tapped to. But I would like to see How Conor would pressure the quick level changer...

don't think RDA would have been able to take the shots diaz did,and conor wouldn't have been overextending n reaching as much as he had to against nate.

so yeah he couldve/could beat RDA, but he also could've/could lose. who knows.

too much propaganda. people were talking about him as their god LOL. talk about brainwash

Because
1- Knckouts happen. Conor fooled everyone into thinking he has hands of stone, the guy is a TKO artist. he knocked out 2 guys the same way, and that's it. he is not a 1 punch k.o. type of fighter, never was. If Aldo was proof of anything he'd beat Marcus Brimage with one finger

2 - RDA been looking WAY better than Aldo, or no one thinks that ? Aldo was living in the "undefeated for 10 years" thing while RDA was PROVING he is a deserving champion. Two VERY different moments and very different situations, Aldo was most likely to lose, RDA not.

3 - The guy has chin, got hit and kept going, why he wouldn't be able to eat mcgregor shots IF he landed any at all ? oh yeah i forget McGregor can K.O. everyone and their mom...yeah right. Never K.O.'d anyone at LW.

That's what some fans think, but what shows you RDA can't take shots ? watch the Henderson fight, or the Sotiropoulos, or the Jason high fight. RDA does have chin. What Jeremy Stephens did is not proof of anything, RDA never came close to be K.O'd like that again and his chin was broken by Guida in a very weird way. He is not a glass chin, and he's also a pressure fighter, if you don't have grappling+ground game skills, you're most likely NOT outstriking RDA. Pettis and Cerrone are proofs of it, Nate Diaz too.

I was never a big Conor fan but respected behind all that show he did/does have skillz. But hyping a fight or not there's gotta be some real behind it. Conor said some stuff about Dos Anjos comparing him to Aldo, and I'm thinking as he ever actually watched this man fight?
Rafael is a certified bully grinder and a absolutely nightmare match-up with Conor's present fight cardio.

pettis and cerrone don't know what to do when pressured, and i think it's safe to assume RDA's chin isn't as good as nates.

styles make fights etc etc, we won't know til/if it happens.
