First of all I would like to say that I am fond of females. I am fond of porn. I am fond of females in porn.
I am also a fan of art, whether it be poetry, books, music, movies, drawn art, etc. I feel like when a work of art in the film sense has an excessive amount of sex/nudity its just a way to gain ratings/approval and it cheapens that work.
Now I asked someone before about why this show was practically a soft porn. They said, "Man you should read the books, the show is tame compared to them! They actually cut most of the sex out for the show!"
I am now over 3/4 of the way through the first book and there has been very few descriptions of sex. Those few descriptions were done very tastefully too. I think the most graphic description I have come across in 600+ pages was "and he slipped a finger inside of her and felt her wetness."
I have only watched the first season too so im comparing it directly to the first book. Where do these 3-4 minute long sex scenes come from? Why do they go the soft porn route instead of being more artistic and tasteful with the sex/nudity?
Honestly there is a LOT of content they are trying to cram into 10 hours of show, there are a lot of important scenes from the book that do NOT appear in the show. I think its pathetic and it cheapens the end result.
So... What is it? Is the cuz its an HBO show? Trying to get more ratings? Do some of you really think the way the sex is shown is really for artistic effect or just to keep the attention of wankers watching it!??
On the other hand I am really enjoying the book!
