Why size doesn’t always matter

I find that size matters less in striking than grappling

That's why MT fighters barely cut any weight, while wrestlers have died trying to cut like 20+% of their bodyweight.

Strikers have more success moving up weight classes in MMA as well for proof of this (Whittaker, Dan Hooker, Rumble etc)

Size always matters, you just gotta know how to fight effectively based on your body type and the opponent's.

Those guys cut so much weight, they weren't even small in their new divisions anyways

heavyweight boxing doesn't have a size limit yet how many guys over 300 pounds have won the world title?

There are dozens of 300 pound athletes in ncaa football who have been cut by the nfl or didn't make the nfl. Why havn't they transitioned to beat down guys smaller then them?

You obviously haven't heard of Bob Sapp.

ps: you didn't have to revive this thread for such a useless comment.

Heard of bob sapp and seen him get beat

Whats wrong with the comment

Why have we not seen 300 pound plus champions in heavyweight boxing?

after 200 pounds size doesn't matter much. Boxing has shown that. One fighter might be 207 but a lot faster while the guy who is 247 might be slower and may run out of fuel faster. After 200 pounds two equally skilled opponents will come down to the strategy

Size always matters but the bigger guy doesn’t necessarily always win.

I honestly can’t see any strategy that would have allowed Chris Byrd to prevail over a brute like Ike ibeabuchi. Size played a big role in that one.
