So a good referee would've stopped a fight, picked up Alvarez' defenseless body, and ruled it as another NC.

Wouldn't have mattered much.
Alvarez got around 10 huge head strikes, both punches, kicks and knees. The only reason he stood is because Poirier was all over him.
He basically fell like a sack of potatoes a second afterwards.

The fight wouldn't have continued. The foul would've only changed the official outcome of the fight.
That's all I say.

Funny to say but the first fight should literally have nothing to do with this fight it's an entirely new fight and the ref shouldn't have that in his mind at all if there was a low blow foul he should have been given 5 min period
