Pretty self explanatory, thread title says it all.

Does anybody know if this was discussed or talked about between the two fighters who are now currently out opponents? I think this would be a super interesting fight, given all the circumstances.

They are teammates, pretty self explanatory.

Whole card should of been cancelled and the UFC should sue Mcgregor for the loss. I am not joking here, Mcgregor's criminal behavior caused all this, he is 100% liable. Dana White could of used this situation to hold Mcgregor by the nuts and make him fight off the bill for ruining this fight card.

They're are still technically independent contract employees -- it's not like the ufc can force them to fight if neither want to take it. Being teammates and both have had a wild few days from a professional standpoint I can see why both would just say no and move on for something shortly down the road.

You know that doesn't work in the real world. The intangible losses of a cancellation will hit them way more than the money they can make from a lawsuit.

Fans are already leaving and not following because of the crap they serve up and if they show that one guy can derail a entire card leading to cancellation. They also have to answer to stakeholders like tv and ppv networks.

Far easier to bite the bullet with "card is subject to change" and "hey least there's a show and the show much go on" than to pull the pin with a day to go.

It didn't cause this. It caused Petts/Chiesa being scrapped. it literally had nothing to do with Felder/Al or Al/Khabib.

Max wasn't being allowed to make weight by NYSAC and that's the biggest blow to the card, the UFC should sue them...

Hope both are added to 225 in Chicago with their teammates Sergio & CM.

Pettis vs Chiesa
Felder vs Hernandez

Biggest blow was Ferguson getting hurt. I understand if you feel like max was but most people wanted to see the original fight. Also even if he didn’t get hurt Connor still would have taken a few fights out by himself.
Lastly I didn’t know they were teammates because I was thinking the same thing

I mean after the tony injury (which of course ruined everything) when the UFC kind of looked like they saved the event, before all this shitstorm.

Losing a few fights because of Connor was a big blow but I agree after Ferguson dropping out that was the biggest blow.
