In all the other divisions, the majority of the top 15 or so guys either have imminent fights scheduled or have just fought, but it seems like there has been very little activity for the heavies since Werdum made a name off of Browne. Here is the most recent top 15 according to the UFC. Other than Cain-Werdum and Stipe, Struve and Schaub being paired up with guys outside the top 15, none of these guys have fights lined up. Let's play matchmaker.

    Champion : Cain Velasquez
    1 Fabricio Werdum
    2 Junior Dos Santos
    3 Travis Browne
    4 Antonio Silva
    5 Josh Barnett
    6 Alistair Overeem
    7 Stipe Miocic
    8 Mark Hunt
    9 Roy Nelson
    10 Frank Mir
    11 Gabriel Gonzaga
    12 Stefan Struve
    13 Minotauro Nogueira
    14 Brendan Schaub
    15 Soa Palelei

Hunt and Nelson are rumored to be fighting in Japan, Mir is awful now and taking time off, Barnett and Overeem are injured, Bigfoot is suspended, Browne just fought and got his ass whooped, JDS is injured, Stipe has a fight lined up, Nog's career probably just ended. I'm not sure what you're surprised about really.

Ufc would be smart to bring in more he's still. There's no doubt they make for good publicity at least, and it's weird having multiple events with no hw's

The question really is: why hasn't the U.F.C. developed more talent in the Heavyweight roster?

Because good heavyweights are expensive. They can make more money doing other sports.

The UFC doesn't like settling, they want HW's that are good and look good physically so they are easier to market as a smashing machine. Also, not a ton of guys any ways. I think they should go look at the guys top hw prospects in the non ufc mma forum part and just sign the top 10. BOom.
