Why is the clock not in the corner of the screen?

Does this irritate everybody else as much as me? I was watching the Fedor vs Maldonado fight, and the clock was almost halfway across the screen, and really offputting when watching the fight. Do these idiots not realise that we don't use cathode ray tubes any more, and therefore you should put the clock right in the corner of the screen (preferably the bottom left or right corner), and it will still be as easy to read? It's ridiculous how people blindly follow what somebody else has done - to the detriment of the viewers of their product.
