Why is nobody talking about Cub Swanson?

It's kinda crazy that Cub's KO didn't get a bonus.
 
Limited upward mobility on the card. I love Cub Swanson, he's always awesome. However he's an usher at the wedding, not the best man, and sadly not the groom.

Love his fights, his one throw in WEC helped my Bjj game when I had one. He's also one of the few fighters whose tattoos don't suck.

I hope I'm wrong and he gets a late career apogee like Bisping.
 
Cub has always had an issue that his best performances are overshadowed by his ugly losses. He had a great win streak going until Frankie fucked him up. He was about in title contention in WEC until Aldo double flying knee'd him to Bolivian. He's a constant contender but never quite gets to the top
 
Anyone who has followed Cub over his career was absolutely elated over the win. Our hearts sank for a bit there early with the leg kicks but resolve, what fucking resolve. Heart forever. Such a good, good dude. We love ya, Cub.
 
Cub isnt relevent in ufc anymore.
It was early fight.
No one knew his opponent.

eh I completely disagree, pineda dumped his gas tank in the opening frame of the first round and cub has literally formulated his striking around sloppy technique. When I think of hooks at 145, I think of Cub, when I think of jabs and straights I think of Kattar.

Daniel pineda was a on straight fucking spree dude was taking out prospects left and right, with their zero's too boot. You sir, have assimilated into casualiasm
 
I was backing Pineda but was also (as a long time fan) glad Cub took the W.

Was a very fun fight, though I thought Pineda had somewhat terrible fight IQ. Taking nothing away from Cub who managed his situation well and turned it around in to an awesome TKO.
 
I thought Pineda would get the nod based solely on his last outing and stopping Burns impressively.

Cub showed he can still hit. As someone who has done quite a few sparring rounds with him, I was telling my wife, he is about to start throwing hard shots, and he did. Pineda showed poor defense and ate Cubs power shots which were his demise. Cub will hit you with those same hard ass punches in sparring as well, I didnt care for it.
 
Pineda looked like shit imo, like he didnt even train and Cub was on his game.

Sadly this, he's one of my favorite fighters. He really should've gotten that Aldo rematch when he was on that win streak.
