Why is mma so full of fans who despise the big league?

Aka the ufc. They hate the president, fightpass, its stars, etc. its almost like they want the sport to fail. Or is it just me?

I don't even.

Well i don't hate the stars & I don't have fight pass bc I don't trust them with my card info but hating the ufc is only natural. In fact, can you truly claim to be a fan of the fighters if you don't hate the UFC? They bully the fighters, treat them like shit & under pay them. The ufc also lies. I never understood why people side with the company over the individual fighters. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah I notice that too, but whatever. Glad they're not in charge. I love the UFC

Your comment only makes sense if you think UFC=MMA. Many fans don't like the way the sport is structured so that non-fighters like Zuffa execs take a large slice of the profits for driveway snow and leave little else for fighters who actually do the real work in this business and prefer a system which resembles other mainstream sports. There should be more transparency on the fighter pay in relation to revenue/profit.

Same here.

Though I hate Dana more than I like him. & disagree with some of the company business moves. But business is business... Without the UFC we wouldn't even be here, Sherbros!!

The UFC is the org giving fighters med insurance,, doing PED tests way above and beyond what they had to do (and even beyond what was probably in their own interest)

The UFC has built the sport damn near single-handedly, they've pushed for legalization of pro MMA all over the globe.

They provide the stage, do all the production, marketing and setup to give the fighters an opportunity to make a living at a sport that was never even remotely as lucrative as it is now. They got the TV deals. They got the PPV distribution set up. They changed the public's perception about the sport, introduced it to new markets around the world, and it's only continuing to build.

Without the UFC, the individual fighters would be completely fucked. And as fans, the UFC provides the forum for the best guys to compete on the same stage and the best matches to be made. Those who remember the old days remember how shitty it was when guys couldn't fight each other.

The UFC made MMA great. Fighters come and go, but they do 198357989237937 times more good than harm.

Now look at every other org. Just in it for a slice of the pie the UFC cooked. No other org is doing the things for the fighters, the fans and the sport as a whole that the UFC does. They just try to put on shows and earn enough revenue to stay afloat. None of them are investing in the future of the sport. And they pretty much all have more restrictive contracts.

I don't hate the UFC. Dana kind of sucks, fighter pay is a joke, and the Reebok deal completely fucked the fighters. Reneging on title shot promises and throwing fighters under the bus etc...

Its easy to understand the hate even if you don't necessarily feel the same.

Without the ufc mma fighters would be in a worse financial state. The sport would not even be as popular as it is. Who knows, maybe guys like conor mcgregor wouldnt have even pursued mma since it didnt pay

i blame the Rebook deal also the UFC treats its fighters worse than strippers.

White people in the UFC make more money and get promoted more than ethnic people

Also the UFC fanbase is racist.

Boxing fanbase is not racist.

People still don't understand that the fanbase, is completely opposite.

UFC has a fanbase that roots for White Fighters, that loves white fighters with the "It" factor...If they are cocky, they are loved.

However if black/brown fighter with the "IT" factor is cocky, expect them to be hated by the UFC fanbase...Thats why it's hard for black/brown fighters to make as much money as white fighters in the current scheme of things.

The UFC fanbase likes black/brown fighters who arn't cocky but they are never superstars

Well hate is much too strong a word for my own feelings. I just think Dana does alot of things that make him look like an asshole.

Idk. Bellator & rizins contracts seem way less restrictive than the UFC's. & the fighters wouldn't be fucked without the ufc, bc someone else would just take the ufc's place. Some of your points are irrefutable. The ufc does some good, but still. Hitler did some good. But we still recognize his flaws. The ufc treats fighters like shit, & this needs to be brought up at literally every single chance we have.

Unless fighters can raise the 100s of millions of dollars needed to promote big fights, get PPV/cable TV deals, and produce a quality show, someone else is going to do all that and they're going to take a big chunk of the pie because they have all the RISK.

RISK is what it all comes down to. The guy who fronts the money to put on the big show is the guy who has the risk, the guy who made an investment that he wants (NEEDS) to have pay off.

What risk do the fighters have, monetarily speaking? They show up, they get paid. In every business, the ones who make the financial risk are the ones who reap the benefits when the enterprise takes off.

it's been a while since I've read about the UFC not paying the fighters what they agreed to pay them. I actually can't remember the instance I'm thinking about right now. The fighters are all grown men. They understand numbers and what they need to live as far as money. If they don't like the money, go elsewhere or don't fight MMA for a living.

Because its cool to be a hater. Plus its easy to point the finger at the company when someone doesnt get their way. There are certainly issues with the UFC,but I dont "hate" the UFC,Dana or any fighters, really. Some things i agree and disagree with, like with anything else.
