Why is Hardy vs Spivak On the Main Card of UFC 272 over Rodriguez vs Yan Xiaonan?

Yes I know it's a heavy weight fight but both these guys are unranked and neither are very entertaining, and Hardy in particular really isn't very good. Why put this on the main card over what's essentially a No. 1 contender's fight in the Women's most exciting division? Marina vs Yan are two high volume strikers and it's sure to be a great fight. Spivak vs Hardy is likely gonna suck.

This placement doesn't make sense to me.

Rodriguez vs Yan is a more important fight for the division, but Hardy and Spivak are going to BANG so it will kick off the main card in a much more exciting fashion than Rodriguez vs Yan would, that will most likely be a 3 round point fight.

You think Spivak is gonna bang?

It's possible, but regardless of how it goes the ceiling for an exciting fight is higher for that fight than Rodriguez / Yan, even if Spivak submits Hardy in round 2.

Dana's got a hard-on for Hardy

This is Hardy's tenth UFC and tenth main card slot. I wouldn't be surprised to learn it's in his contract.

I hope Spivac finishes him.

I don't agree. Marina puts on great fights

That's fair, but Yan is a much less exciting fighter. Spivak vs Hardy has a fun sloppy brawl written all over it so I understand why it is getting the PPV treatment though.
