Why is GSP calling for a fight against Bisping and not Robbie?

Is he just wanting to take fights at 185? Or is he afraid of Ruthless?

He's obviously more comfortable making 185 now, or he wants that second legacy belt.

People here think Challenging the champion at a higher weightclass is a gimme fight....

Come on now.

TDC (Two Division Champion).

That would cement his legacy and then he could really retire.

I'm not saying it's a gimme fight at all, but I think he has a way better chance at beating Bisping than Robbie.

He's been talking about moving up in weight for a long time. He wants Rory to have WW as well and won't fight him.

Also, Robbie is a hitter. ;p

The only thing that matter, The GOAT is BACK!
F*CK YEAH!

Robbie Lawler is likely to violently KO Georges if he can't out grapple him for five rounds.

Despite coming off a spectacular KO win, there is nothing in Bisping's long body of work that suggests he's going to cause you head trauma. He would likely out point Georges in a competitive fight should Georges lose.

The risk -vs- reward with Bisping is far more equitable.

Because the aging and eternally gatekeepinig Bisping isn't the easiest belt to claim of them all?

Normally, I'd say bravo for taking on a champion of a higher weight class. Waiting for Bisping to luck out and get the belt before making that play kind of kills it.

Because they are tied for most UFC wins. DUH

Gsp ran right through 4 guys that finished lawler, and dominated the guy who just got Robberied by Robbie.

It would just be silly to be afraid of him.

getting punched in the head for 25 minutes might be worse than getting KO'd quickly

For the last time, he never asked for the Bisbing fight. If I recall, it was Bisbing that asked for it. When GSP was asked about it, he said it was interesting, or something along those lines. He didn’t specifically “call out” Bisbing.

I think he probably sees it as a more winnable fight coming off a long layoff. Robbie has pretty decent takedown defense and he is a freaking savage that never stops looking to finish the fight in brutal fashion. Been fighting absolute monsters back to back ever since GSP's been gone. Not the best opponent to return against after being away.

Bisping hasn't exactly been fighting scrubs himself back to back but he's a more winnable fight style wise. GSP probably can't hold the belt against guys like Jacare and Weidman and Rockhold though. Not sure what he's thinking unless he doesn't intend to defend the belt and would just vacate it. What's the point then?

If he wants a middleweight superfight there are better options. There's Hendo, a quite winnable fight with name value. There's the Anderson fight which is way past the timetable where it should have happened but there's still an undeniable name value in promoting "GSP vs. Anderson Silva," even to casuals.

You can't deny that no matter how hard you try. All they gotta do is show highlights of Anderson front kick KOing Vitor, channeling Neo from the Matrix versus Forrest and Okami... That's not the same Anderson any more but still, casuals don't know that.

Except when he wanted no part of Anderson
