Why is global warming so scary?

Please take off topic conversation to the ot thread.

What do you want to do about all the refuges from all the shithole countries that are no longer habitable ? You think that they are just going to respect borders and go die ?

How much do you think it will cost to move just americans from the coasts inland? Can we afford to do that and deal with the rest of the world in crisis as well? As false pointed out to you we are talking about the collapse of civilization. Might work itself out down the road but it will get very ugly first

What do you want to do if while all of this is going on there is a mass famine ?

Its not just weather and water all kinds of political issues and hostilities between people are likely to arise .

These are just a few of the problems that will have to be dealt with at the same time if global warming continues and a major reason why we want to slow it/ try to reverse as much of it as possible

The largest issue being water shortages which lead to famine. That is a problem we can efficiently work on as humans. Changing earths thermostat is not

One thing you should not do is complain about a derail while feeding it. End the conversation and use the report button if needed. Put people on ignore if you want. Do not abuse the report button though.
And don't whine at me plz.

I can't report. Because I'm on dubs. It's why I replied and you were linked. I did exactly what you said I should have done. Reported and ended the conversation. You could have messaged me this instead of continuing the discussion here.

Right now not every mother fucker on this planet has clean water to drink and we arent in a state of mass global chaos .

And clearly we can control the thermostat or else we wouldnt be having this conversation in the first place

also when you tell me some horse shit about india and china I got ya

Through trade and tariffs and all kind of international pressure ( you know our giant military we have to have) as well as straight up giving the resources to get the desired result we can totally influence what other countries do if we wish so dont even bother with that weak right wing radio talking point

And now you're blatantly strawmanning my earthquake example after I explicitly stated that it was in response to the human survival of disasters, and not to your point about adaptability.

You seemed to continue the thought when you pretended like I wanted to sit back and do nothing and die.

As to the part you're claiming I ignored. I flat out disagree that we can efficiently solve this problem by trying to change the earths climate rather then addressing the unique issues of a particular change

And you didnt need to start this discussion here.
And now it's over.

You do not possess the knowledge or the critical thinking skills to credibly disagree with the scientific consensus on our ability to solve the problem.

Lack of food security, water security, increased spread of diseases (both animal and plant) and mass relocation.
Nomadic societies are largely not relevant to our current population and environmental carrying capacity.

Food security comes from water which is an issue we can actually address today. The spread of disease is linked to warm and cooler temperatures so I'm not sure that is a valid argument. The mass relocation is linked to water and food concerns so you are kind of double dipping by stating that one.

That sounds like a good case for desalination research

Lol, no. We can't.

Lol you're arguing with ghosts here dude

This is why people call you names and shit. You clearly don't want to learn, so why start threads?
@superpunch is actually asking questions.

That clearly contradicts your assertion of superpunch not wanting to learn.

You may disagree with his line of questioning, or his methods, but just dismissing someone that's actually asking questions is a sign of defensiveness on the part of the person doing the dismissing.

Specifically which problem of "global warming"are you referring to?

I'm damn sure the scientific consensus on dealing with water shortages doesn't favor changing the climate over desalination efforts for instance.

Are you denying that a warmer climate leads to more water shortages? I've seen you post lots of retarded stuff, but surely you're not claiming THAT...

Of course not. Heat causes water to evaporate and it isn't always replenished as fast as it's taken.

You need to answer this question instead of bothering me with it. This could be answered by nearly any grade school child. You are not a clever obscurantist. Try again, and do it properly this time.

Private non government research right ?

Lol, no. We can't.

Yes person being willfully ignorant we can .... Thats why we are experiencing global warming because we keep turning the thing up

Lol you're arguing with ghosts here dude

Ive been in these threads before and have seen the developing nation line used many times . I was just letting you know not to bother with it just in case because like the rest of your argument ,its bunk .

Why are you in this thread? You accuse me of being an obscurantist (nice vocab no sarcasm), yet I've shown willingness to discuss the topic. You on the other hand continue to do what you accuse me of.

What's the proper way to handle someone who continually posts the exact same threads in which he says he doesn't understand and then ignores all information provided to him?

Please tell me

"Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman."

-Louis D. Brandeis

The most effective way to counter an idea you believe to be wrong, is to actually show why it's wrong.

Just saying something is wrong doesn't prove anything, and it doesn't help people.

Every thread he's started has been full of people showing him why he's wrong. He's trolling.
