Why is Eddie Murphy such a little bi**h?

I remember reading about other black comedians coming over to his house and how cool Eddie was and laid back and super hilarious he is.

Now him picking up a tranny hooker and hooking up with many women including having a baby with the self proclaimed nymphomaniac Scary Spice from the spice girls. I'm sure he has a lot of skeletons in his closet. It's inexplicable how a guy who is so talented would just stop cold on doing stand up and hasn't been the lead in a successful movie in years. He was suppose to do a stand up for Net Flix and he did his Cosby impression at that award show... it's just bizarre that he hasn't leaned fully into it.

Well, he got decent reviews for the Dolemite movie, but I don't think Coming 2 America was that well recieved. He's teased about returning to standup for years now but he's never shown any commitment.

The rumors about him have been out there for a long time, he and Arsenio and Jonny Gill were supposed lovers, those two sound believable but the other rumors include Sugar Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson, those sound less believable. He's had several trannies either out him in the tabloids, books or even online. The last one went public after Eddie reneged on not paying for the surgery to make the tranny a complete tranny, no ding dong. Apparently he paid for it and she went away.

Comics are dark people much of the time. Cosby had the cleanest rep and he was by far the most vile in terms of his behind the scenes stuff. Richard Pryor had all sorts of drug issues and he had so many problems but he was always wide open about it, always admitted his fuckups and he never hid messing with trannies or men. Richard had more courage than any comic ever. Burnt out by the time he was 50 though and spent his last years withering away.

He saved SNL and they took a cheap shot at him as soon as he had a bad review. His beef wasn't with C-list Spade, but with the people who put it on the air who only had jobs because of him.

He didn't bitch about it, he just declined to go back on the show and put more money in their pockets for a while. Fair play.

I cant believe David spade is getting praise here. I like him, but he's only great when working with Chris Farley so...is he stand up a must see?

Anyway, odd as fuck this thread came up cuz i just rewatched Raw yesterday. Murphy is amazing and I cannot believe he didnt continue. Shit, I remember him flat out refusing to do any Cosby imitations at the SNL reunion cuz of how much he respected him.

I pray he gets it together soon.

He was good in Joe Dirt, and i enjoyed Just Shoot Me but mostly bc of the other cast members but that's about it.

He apparently also had beef with John Landis filming Coming to America. Talk about letting your ego get out of control. Landis arguably directed his best films IMO.

John Landis first directed Eddie Murphy in "Trading Places", and was also one of the directors of the "Twilight Zone" movie. During Landis' direction, Vic Morrow and two children were killed in a helicopter accident during a scene.
Landis and four others were later charged with involuntary manslaughter, and then acquitted in a trial.

"Coming To America" reunited Landis and Murphy, but there was tension between the two.
Murphy in an interview ("Playboy", February 1990), said Landis held a grudge because Murphy never publicly defended him after the "Twilight Zone" tragedies.
Murphy was also upset because he claimed the studio bosses didn't want Landis for "Coming To America".
They only hired Landis because Murphy insisted on it.
