Why is Cruz considered dishonest or a "snake oil salesman"?

I really don't get it. I get that he is unliked and I do not intend to vote for him because he is an extremist and a religious zealot. But he seems very genuine in his beliefs.

I think he is dangerous exactly because he seems to be serious about what he says: he really seems to believe in his war against the government, taxation, what he calls "judicial activism", pro Israel stance etc.

I get Cruz was dishonest about Carson in Iowa. But besides that? He seems to be the most genuine guy besides Sanders.

Please explain to me why you think he is not genuine about his ultra conservative beliefs.

You really think he knew nothing about the blatantly fraudulent smear attempts at his competitors during the primary elections and fired his campaign manager or whatever his title was, out of utter disgust of their dishonesty? LMAO Cruz is just another slime ball politician and is no better than Hillary Clinton or any of the others that have made a career out of lying for a living.

fake christian. fake american. eats boogers. what more evidence do you need?

Science says it's because he has an ugly face -

While the Republic candidate has won four states in this nomination race so far, a neurologist says he still faces a big obstacle with voters: his own face.

In an interview with Quartz, George Washington University's Richard E. Cytowic said the unusual movements of Cruz's face may make him seem less sincere to the human brain than other candidates.

"The normal way a face moves is what's called the Duchenne smile, named after the 19th century French neurologist. So the mouth goes up, the eyes narrow and the eyes crinkle at the outside, forming crows feet," said Cytowic, a professor of neurology.

"Cruz doesn't give a Duchenne smile. His mouth goes in a tight line across or else it curves down in an anti-Duchenne smile. So he doesn't come across as sincere at all."

Re: dishonesty, look at his history of statements on Politifact. Granted, PF statement readings are not the best objective measure of honesty, but nearly everything he's said on the campaign trail has been either a stretched truth or a flat out lie.

because their plan to label him as stupid backfired. relentless attacks by both parties have convinced idiots that there is something wrong with the tea party movement, the attack on Cruz is all part of the same

I get he's a politician slime ball and a snake oil salesman like any other politician but I hear it way more about Cruz than other candidates and never correlated the exact substance

I can't get over the fact that every time I see him/hear him speak I get this hunch that he belonged on this guy's show at some point.

sadly, it's due to the way he looks. he just has that, "slimey" look about him. he can't do anything about it. it's similar to richard nixon. he too had that look about him. politicians don't like cruz because he apparently doesn't, "play the game". he is a hardcore conservative, and he doesn't change his values. he isn't like rubio, who leans more towards the establishment, and will play the game. that's why he has been able to receive endorsements from the establishment. and that's why i'm voting for cruz.

anyone voting, or supporting trump, is an idiot. the guy is the slimiest of them all. these people get caught up in his rhetoric, and like his brashness and shit-talking for the sake of talking shit. he repeats the same shit over and over, and yet these people knock rubio for doing that.

His face is just a huge disaster. He's got the nose of a villain in an antisemetic cartoon from the early 20th century, and everything else is mid-melt. It shouldn't matter, but it does.

Every other candidate is superior because they can make good on the promise to keep Ted Cruz's face away from the presidency for the next 4 years. Otherwise it's gonna be that mug staring directly at the camera from the Oval Office, addressing congress, press conferences in his light weight summer attire. Nobody wants that.

I've posted this before, so I doubt anyone is going to pay attention:

-6:41-6:43 p.m. CNN’s Chris Moody tweets news about Ben Carson

(Chris Moody broke the original story:)

Chris Moody ‎@moody

Carson won't go to NH/SC, but instead will head home to Florida for some R&R. He'll be in DC Thursday for the National Prayer Breakfast.
