My guess is that at least part of the reason Conor brags about his wealth is that he feels it strengthens his position when it is time to negotiate his fight pay. I expect that "Money" Mayweather uses the same tactic. The idea is that one shouldn't expect a wealthy man to be willing to fight for "peanuts".

Because Connor is the lowest common denominator in society, and basically so are his fans.

I grew up watching mainstream sports where people like Lebron gets like 100 million dollar NIKE deals when he's like 17 years old, yet you never hear him or any other big earners like Messi, Tom Brady etc. brag or even talk about how much they make. People with real money usually never put others down for not having them, they usually pride themselves on doing community events and giving their money away.

Connor money is actual peanuts compared to most mainstream sport super stars, yet he brags about it every day like he's Bill Gates.

The only other athlete that acts like Connor is ironically Mayweather, who pretty much is as low class as it gets and can barely read.
