Why Is Anderson Silva's Power So Underrated Here?

because his speed and timing are his best weapon, of course he's a heavy hitter but IMO his ko wins are cause his accuraccy and not pure power.

And that is what compliments his accuracy. Without it his accuracy would only score points or he would have to get 50 punches in to score a TKO. He would be like Nick Diaz basically.

I don't think anyone is underestimating his power, but he isn't one of the p4p hardest hitters. It has more to do with his timing and accuracy, along with having an above average amount of power.

^^ this here is your answer ts. Well part of your answer.

the answer is this person is the reason people underrate it. They forget:

power = timing + accuracy + strength

Anderson has possibly the best timing, accuracy in mma, and an above average strength. Making him easily one of the best ever.

Second. People love to hate on the greatest of all time, its like people saying jones got smashed by gus when deep down it was a close fight.

LOL This is the most dumbest assesment I read on here in a way to discredit his power.

Only Sherdoggers came up with this nonsense.

Mayweather is the most accurate and well timed puncher in the world and he does not get as many knock outs because he lacks power. Hopkins is another one and he is of a higher weight class.

Silva has great power. No one can give me a reason why he is not P4P one of the hardest hitters.

I like to see detailed reasons on here on why he does not have as much power. Until then, his performances speaks for itself.

Only on Sherdog folks.

Lol at the most dumbest part. Read the Cote quote that another poster just posted. I wasn't discrediting his power, I'm just saying he doesn't have the same one punch ko power as other fighters. Keep swinging on his nuts and getting upset at posters who share their opinion while they aren't even insulting Silva.

Anderson got lucky whit chael

That was the worst beating
He ever had

Lucky

How am I'm getting upset? Just annoyed at geeks like you who knows jack shit about Boxing while regurgitating nonsense that other haters make up.

So you are going by a quote of one guy who had no answer for Silva anyways and take that over Silva's actual performances? What quote did he make? That Silva is accurate? We all know that. So is Mayweather and Hopkins. Where is their power?

Explained to me how Silva does not have the one punch KO power as others do even though he score one punch KO wins especially from jabs and with a a punch that split a man's face open?

Go ahead.

Because he doesn't have a lot of KOs like this

Are you that gullible? Okay puppet. Explained to me how Silva does not have the one punch KO power as others do even though he score one punch KO wins especially from jabs and with a a punch that split a man's face open?

Awwww now we're calling people names. I might not know the most about boxing, but I have been watching since I was a child, and have trained for a little while. That's my opinion, so you don't need to lose sleep over it.

James Toney had great accuracy and timing and he lacked power as a HW.

Not a good theory. Silva has power.

Nobody can still come up with a detailed reason as to why Silva does not have power.

Sherdog really is a lost cause. LOL.

Do you realize that you sort of proved his point with your post? I'll let you figure out how.

I would say he has pillow fists because he walks around at 6'7 300 lbs.

You still fail to see that people are saying he does have power. How does James Toney fit into this argument again?

How so?

Are you saying that I am arguing Silva does not have accuracy and timing? I never said that. Obviously the man has great accuracy and timing.

But Mayweather is the best accurate puncher in the world. Where is his power? Where was James Toney power? Hopkins?

Nick Diaz has excellent accuracy but he needs 50 punches to get a TKO.

Silva has done it with one punch. He also hurts dudes with even a single punch while on the ground.

I still don't get the misconception except that geeks feel a man has to look like Hulk Hogan to have KO power and not tall and lanky.

Because some people here seem to think if you knock out guys with only a few strikes, you're lucky and not skilled.

He didn't KO Griffin. Griffin quit and then ran out crying. Even more impressive imo.

You still have not given me a reason as to why he does not have as much power as the other heavy hitters in the game.

Does he wear Paris Plaster in his gloves? Is his hand made out of titanium steel?

That is all I am asking for.

He does not have one punch knockout power but the accumulation of precise punches is a thing of beauty and I personally think that is more impressive.
