First and for most it can go either way, Joanna is a legit GREAT life long Muay Thai fighter, that is no secret. However, that is really all we have seen thus far of her game.

The way I see it is Rose is a PURE Mixed Martial Artist. Joanna already knows she has to watch for the take down, she is very aware of her submission game being superb. On top of that now Roses stand up game which has improved drastically. Rose has power, she trained with Shevchenko the first time around for JJ who beat Joanna more than once herself. We seen Rose finish the most in SW division including the former champion.

Question is...Is Joanna gonna avoid getting clipped again in 5 rounds? While Joanna USUALLY needs 5 to win on points...No reason for me to think she will stop Namajunas. Not saying it cant happen. Just saying Rose has more ways to win than Joanna.

IF Rose does start losing on the feet this time around she has 5 rounds to change a game plan.
What is Joanna gonna do if Thug starts besting her in the stand up once AGAIN? Take Rose down? Doubt it.

Thats my take, Totally understand if you disagree, should be a GREAT scrap either way.

Wmma seems to rely on mental toughness more than any particular physical attribute. Rose takes that by miles

If Rose doesn’t KO her again she will take her back and choke her out. I wish Cormier was commentating so we could hear ‘Thug Rose!!!!!’ when she retains her title.

Rose can't handle fights that don't go her way. Complete headcase.

If Joanna's chin is not shot and she survives the first, she'll get in rhythm and start picking Rose apart. As the fight goes on Joanna gets stronger, Rose gets sloppier.

Rose can only win in the first 2 rounds, after that she'll be a sitting duck for combo after combo.

I cheer for Rose since she loves Denver and we love her, but I don’t have a good feeling about the fight.
Which, maybe, is because I got so used to Joanna demolishing opponents on the feet that I’ll be nervous with every early exchange. I felt like Rose had a shot the first time around and loved how it went down, but I can’t just expect it to happen again.
Oh well, that’s why MMA is great, really looking forward to this fight. It really would be huge for Rose if she won again

This fight will quite simply be: Joanna's chin vs. Namajunas' cardio. Personally I see Joanna's chin crumbling before Namajunas' cardio becomes an issue.

I think emotion is a greater variable in WMMA; I don't think "rely" is an appropriate description though.

Good points.

I feel like Joanna manages to point fight her way to a decision on the feet, but since the first fight I've thought she'll be in trouble if they grapple

she win cause she better than Joanna.

I think JJ needs to knock Rose out if she wants that belt back. She is not the champ anymore so its going to be a bit more difficult outpointing her with a million pillow fist jabs and making the judges buy it like she is accustomed to.

Only way I see JJ regaining her title is with a Finish or a near flawless point decision. She does seem hungry for her belt back so maybe she will have changed her gameplan up a bit. Will see this weekend. Looking forward to it. Routing for Rose but would not be disappointed If the Boogey woman Wins in a spectacular fashion and proves to the world it was all a fluke. That said Rose can fall into her old ways to and be all gun shy and reluctant. She has a tendency to not show up some fights. It all depends on which rose shows up. The timid girl or the Thug.

Agree with pretty much everything you said though. Spot on. Rose does seem to have all the tools and is not afraid of JJ's arsenal. Lets just hope both girls show up in top form and have a FREAKING WAR!

Thug Life!!! Just think we will see a Humble Joanna... not sure if she can get it done. But should be more competitive then the first.

I see 2 possible outcomes:

1) JJ comes out overly aggressive trying to prove first fight was a fluke, gets clipped, goes down and choked out.
2) JJ comes out tentative and overly cautious, gets clipped, goes down and choked out.

Either is fine with me.

Rose seems like on another level mentally + she has more ways to win the fight. So I wouldn't be surprised if she retains it.

But I'm rooting for JJ this time. I want to see her as champ again.
