No UFC contract talk and no MMA fights in 2017. Had a wildly dominant pro-boxing debut, but not against radically high level competition. Nonetheless, he did look fast, certainly in contrast with what we saw from McGregor in his boxing exhibition, if you could even call it that, with Mayweather Jr. Biggest criticism would be lunging forward with his chin out. I'm not sure why MMA guys think imitating Roy Jones Jr is a safe bet without the lifetime of boxing knowledge Roy built that style successfully from. Whatever tho, it worked for him here.

Is anyone familiar with why he hasn't been offered any title contention or bigger fights with Bellator? Bellator seems to have a really hard time keeping any talent with significant hype. Minakov ruining an otherwise promising career at the height of its interest as well.

Because he's under contract with Bellator.

Firstly he's under contract to Bellator, but apparently only a couple of fights left. They have tried several times stepping him up but for one reason or another the fights never seem to happen & he stays where he is smashing cans.

Second because he's another untested prospect who has avoided any real competition in MMA & now in boxing. If you were impressed by his boxing debut then I feel sorry for you, if he's making those sorts of errors when (or IF) he ever steps up in level in the boxing ring then he'll be the one getting clowned.

I was thinking about this after i saw the Israel signing. Once he's done with his contract, i hope he makes his way to the UFC.

*EDIT: That Castano guy is a CAN if I've ever seen one. Did he even throw a punch?!?

He's signed with Bellator.

He's very exciting but he would get exposed against tougher competition in the UFC. Guys would be taking him down and wrestlefucking him to decisions.

I wouldn't say i'm overly impressed. His hands genuinely looked fast, and the shot that downed the guy resounded loudly with power. Most concerning aspect however is that the guy didn't seem to even consider mounting an offense, which begs considerable question about the integrity of the contest.

I think MVP would clown someone like Wonderboy. He is bigger, faster, and more powerful than Wonderboy. MVP is at the bottom of the Bellator WW division but he would be near the top of the UFC.

If they can't get him to fight a legit contender in Bellator who's he going to fight in the UFC?

Honestly?

Because he's a one trick pony that's never had a real fight

He wants to fight cans, prob knows they’d make him fight better competition in the UFC
