I don't watch women's sports in general. But (aside from Federer) I prefer women's tennis because the men almost all do the same thing. stay at the baseline and hit the ball back and forth; the women mix up their game (Fed does too that's why he's my favorite).

And of course any pro man on the tour would dominate the WTA but that's not the point, women aren't suppose to be as good at sports as men just like how small guys shouldn't be able to stand a chance against bigger fighters.

For the non-tennis fans, this is nonsense. It's the equivalent of someone saying they prefer women's basketball because all the men do is go one-on-one and dunk. It's the equivalent if someone were to say something like they prefer WMMA because men just stand in the middle and trade.

It indicates the person either
a) doesn't really watch tennis
b) watches but doesn't understand what they are seeing beyond the most superficial
c) is a white knight
d) some combination of the above

The only thing correct in the above is that Federer does have the most well-rounded and greatest tennis game of all time.

Terrible analogy and John wooden said he preferred the WNBA, I never watched a full WNBA game but are you saying Wooden didn't understand basketball?

There is nothing but superficial in the men's tennis game, they serve then if they can't hit an ace or jump on a return they hit baseline shots until someone misses. Next to no one ever comes to net, they don't hit drop shots etc. no one ever does anything but hit from the baseline at least 95% of the time.

The MMA analogy is absurd because the men are more varied. The men move more and have a more varied attack in general, male fighters also block or avoid way more strikes. in no way do male fighters stand and trade more often than WMMA fighters.

I'm sorry that me thinking WTA tennis is more entertaining to watch upsets you so much. I never said they were better; that would be absurd. I explicitly said any guy on the tour could dominate the WTA; so I don't know where you got white knight from that

That's not what John Wooden said. What he said regarding women's basketball is very well-known and in his statements he never mentioned the WNBA or anything about "preferring" the women's game.

If you got two things wrong in the first sentence I'm not going to bother reading the rest of what I'm sure is a bunch of nonsense.




EDIT: Actually after posting I see in my response the "nothing but superficial" bit about men's tennis from your quote. You clearly know nothing about tennis.

he preferred the style of play (which was what I talked about from the beginning); not because they were female. Which was my point from the beginning. I assumed I didn't need to explain everything like I was talking to a child.

Women's tennis is unwatchable with all the moaning and grunting. The skill is lower and the game is slower/weaker. People watch sports to see the best, not subpar athletes who're being forced onto cards due to a pc agenda. The smaller guy will still be better than the biggest chick.
