I like him as a fighter. He fights with heart and can take a beating, one thing that's annoying about him though is the fact that he is scared to become aggressive.

During his last fight with Till, he jumped around the ring like a bunny rabbit, which is fine if you want to win on points, but Wonderboy was behind. I thought during the end of the last round he would take the fight to his opponent to attempt to salvage the fight, but he did not and ended up losing in a decision loss. wtf?

It's basically the same as Machida imo. Only difference is Machida has/had this one punch KO power. Wonderboy does not, so we get the fights that he fights.

As (sort of) a MMA purist i really love his strategic fighting style... but also being honest.. when drunk it gets boring after a round or two.

And since i am basically always watching drunk... yeah i agree i guess.

He's the very definition of a counter-striker.

Rarely if ever does he rush blitz an opponent.

Same as highly aggressive guys who maybe could benefit from slowing things down

It’s his nature to fight methodical and technical which ends up coming off slow paced

Fast guys tend to be sloppy

I agree, he has so many weapons as a striker, but he just can't seem to get out of point fighting mode.

He's a frustrating fighter to be a fan of.

It's obviously the logicial smart way to approach mma fights and I understand that. But here is my opinion now. I really don't know. Has everything he needs to be the goat. But I think he views mma completely as a sport and if he can win a decision then he will gladly take it avoiding brain trauma can't blame him.

TMA upbringing. Humility. Just a hypothesis.

He fights the way his personality allows him to do so.

I understand both points, but that's something you do when you are confident you are ahead in the cards. Sometimes you just gotta go for broke at the end (this is what most fighters do).

In his wins over hendricks and ellenberger, he was a highlight reel machine. To regain interest, he needs a win like that again, so he should either take more risks or fight an easier opponent.

I wish that he would kick more.

I enjoyed his fight with Masvidal, who was getting pissed he couldn't take him out and I thought WB bounced back well in that fight after losing to Wood

But remember, Till was pretty big vs. him and injured his knee trying to deliberately blow it out and that hindered his movement to an extent.

Looking back, he should be given props for taking that fight and could've very easily said no. The reality is, he needs a little win streak going to get another ts and Till was calling him out so he stepped up, just didn't win on the cards.

No real complaints about him, I think he's a real good guy he's just fought big, powerful guys like Wood and Till and had to be sort of careful not to get knocked out but those losses were very close and it takes two to tango and to be fair Wood and Till could be partially blamed for the outcomes of both as well.

He's probably gonna be out until the end of the year and we'll see how he does next time, hopefully vs. Robbie Lawler, which would be awesome.

He used to..

Ever since Woodley he has kinda become shook...

He seemed to fight more aggressive or I should say take a bit more risk when he was rising up the ranks compared to his championship level fights that have all been 5 rounds. The thing I don't get is if he's not going to go for it and let his strikes fly against other strikers like Masvidal and Till, and he's not going to let his strikes go against great wrestlers like Tyrone because of the take down threat.... Well what exactly is the game plan for Wonderboy to win a fight? Jumping around and throwing the odd counter punch is not showing the judges, himself, the fans or his employer that he wants to win fights and clearly it's not working for him at this level. Maybe he feels as though he has too much to lose if he gets caught with a shot? It is frustrating as a fan to see some of his performances in the UFC while being aware of his extremely high level striking, at one point he was my favourite fighter to watch in the UFC but now I just feel meh. I was extremely disappointed in that Till vs Thompson fight, I was so hyped up for that one, I had big expectations.

He's never been the same since the 4th round of the first Woodley fight

He comes from a fighting background where the foundation is self defence meaning that the vast majority of training and mindset is about countering. Offence is only morally accepted when your opponent starts an attack first. The blitzing style is amature houre when ur opponent havent opened up first, its basicly develouped to overwhelm an opponent that allready is on the offence.
I just took all of that out of thin air, take it for what its worth.
