Why doesn't Greg Hardy just run across the cage and tackle KO his opponent?

Goldberg was a monster. His other finisher was sick too. I hear they cut him because he kept injuring people back stage, not sure whether that was down to recklessness or just the sheer violence needed to execute his moves, but if it was the latter they probably would have changed his moveset rather than just get rid of him - he was a fan favourite back when I used to watch.
many many many wrestlers complained about how stiff and dangerous that guy was lol.

He doesn't have a crash helmet on in the cage and they're not allowed to knee players in the head in the NFL.
If his opponent had a ball in their hands it'd help him in the UFC too as you can't punch anyone while holding a ball.
Pretty much just all that! <PlusJuan>

Go watch Lesnar vs Herring.

The most pointless fight in history. Felt like a non-fight.

Herring over-acted taking a punch with some action roll straight out of film.
Incredible acting.

Now, watch the rest of the fight. He literally complained for three rounds.

He probably bet on Lesnar.

Someone post the beginning of Randleman vs Cro Cop 2...

Randleman tries to do it to Cro Cop...EPIC COLLISION and Mirko held his ground because he was a fuqqin tank!

Chuck speared Wandy in the third round.

If he went for the spear then he might catch the sweet chin music

Because that'd be fucking illegal! A level athletes shouldn't be allowed to do MMA.

I recommend the threadstarter to just try it ;) Football tackles are especially useless as they lack the refinement of a defending opponent in a fight. Its just brute running down and that gets you nowhere 99% of the time.

You can see that very good in youth wrestling were you have muscular powerhouses with little skill who get countered into oblivion. There are many counters to someone running you down.

-roll back with the attack and use the velocity to land on top. Rockhold did that several times. Called Sutemi Nage in some japanese ma. Very effective.
-shifting weight and use the attackers momentum to throw him
-straight knee him in the head (mma)
-push his upper body even further down only to counter with a level change when he gets back up.
-pull one of his arms away with a diagonal backstep. Perfect opportunity to get an upper body takedown yourself.
-time an uppercut ...etc and much more

Thing is, you will not be able to take an experienced wrestler down with such an attack. You may not see it but there are often several directional or level changes and feinting before even the best wrestlers can execute the takedown. GSP wasnt only the best mma wrestler because of his speed and strenght but because he changed the his forward momentum constantly to the opponets weak balance points.

Brock is a good example. He ran down Herring but did not win one iota in position. Or look Brook vs. Cain. Brute force that got clubbered into submission

Besides everything else stated it's not a ko move and it'll kill your cardio attempting do it over and over, especially for a guy that uses an inhaler. Brock dove in like that occasionally because he had the grappling chops to keep it on the mat once he completed the tackle. Honestly if greg had the grappling chops it'd be extremely wise on his behalf with his natural athleticism and strength but it appears he's focused on striking

There is one tackle that's been outlawed in the NFL because it blows knees out.

In MMA, when a guy has anothers back, would it be legal to fall on the back of his knees with all your weight while pulling his neck towards you?

It could destroy some knees but so can a leg lock.

Do u ever play call of duty and if someone charges u with a knife, you just move out of the way or shoot him before he reaches u! The same applies here
