Why doesn't Conor fake the left and throw the knee?

In his fight against Khabib he threw a knee that could've ended the fight that most people missed, and his opening left hand against Cerrone which missed, his knee kinda flopped into Cerrone, but it struck me... why not fake the left and throw that knee? Everyone is dipping into his left knee, and he's had two fights now where it's right there.

How did you even find this thread? Haha.

It’s almost funny how much he completely overcommits and overextends there. He’s completely off balance and open to a counter or a takedown. Cerrone should have punished him badly there but sadly he’s always crumbled under the bright lights.
