Why does Nate Vs Leon get to be 5 rounds....

Didn't Nate want 5? Cause he feels like he has the advantage in 5? Neither Joostin nor Chandler need 5.
Which is weird, because, regardless of cardio, the scar tissue on his eyebrows never makes it more than two rounds, so whether he has gas in the tank is usually irrelevant when the doctor is calling the fight.

It's strange because Nate has never won a 5 round fight. His brother sucks in them too, only ever winning 1
I think Nate kinda marked out for his fanboy perspective, how he ended up on top of Conor during their rematch, how Mas seemed to slow down before the championship rounds and supposedly got a lucky doctor's stoppage to bail him out.

That lead to the Leon fight being 5 rounds where the only fire he had he brought out in the last minute of the last round making fans think he was finally on the path of victory. Reality is he was getting clubbed for most of the duration of these fights and nothing was gonna go his way. But nobody cared and even Nick got lead into a 5 round deal vs Robbie as a result of these delusional fanboy thoughts.

That's my take on this whole 5 round mythology.

Because ever since Nate beat Conor "Notorious for having absolutely no cardio" Mcgregor, there was this weird myth where after a Diaz brothers face gets turned into lasagna for 3 rounds they magically become better fighters in the 4th and 5th...

However, believers of this myth confused flipping the bird and flexing their 11" arms with making an actual meaningful performance in a fight where a fighter lands multiple strikes or makes an effort to take the fight to the ground in pursuit of a submission.
This myth was busted when recently Nate was so gassed in the Edwards fight he was physically unable to advance on an almost unconscious Edwards, instead opting to taunt him and throw insults. And when Nick literally gave up on the canvas as he was probably about to have a heart attack after punching himself out in his return fight after a decade of drug abuse.

And Edwards was almost unconscious because someone in the crowd threw a bottle at him? Gtfo

A better question would have been why isn't Leon vs Masvidal 5 rounds?
I'd 100% take 5 rounds of Mas vs Leon over Gaethje vs Chandler.
Not necessarily because is a bigger fight but because of higher chance to see champ rounds

Nick was a great fighter back in his day but I was never a fan of Nate who never held a belt
in any big name promotion.

Gaethje said if he wasn't getting paid more, why should he fight more rounds. He wanted it to be three.

This is the correct answer.

More specifically, Nate makes more money per fight then JG does. They are both grossly underpaid for their value however.

JG is right to say he should get more for more work. Its crazy for anyone to criticize that point of view, its legitimately more risk to his health.

Because with the horse meds Chandler is on his heart might explode after 20 minutes.

Also, Nick & Nate are not the fighters of 5-10 years ago.
They don't have the cardio of their younger selves.
