do you really think any of that matters in regards to whether they pay him or not? It doesn’t. All that matters is he doesn’t generate enough money to warrant demanding a lot of money.

So JJ refused to fight Francis due to less pay. Think about it. Would any other sport league/team tolerate Jon Jones for the amount of times he has fucked up? He has done everything. Attempted manslaughter, multiple DUIs, felonies, caught cheating many times and what not. Everytime it was the UFC that bailed him out and used its influence to get him reduced sentences. If not for them he would be a nobody today.
He should feel lucky that UFC didnt bury him and still pays him after all this. So better stop whining and accept whatever is being thrown at you. Its what you deserve.

2. Worlds top p4p fighter makes 500k, overeem makes 400k. He is underpaid in comparison to Some of his peers.

4. He will generate UFC a lot of money for a super fight PPV. A lot more than just defending his title.

How about driving drunk again and firing his gun randomly out the window and killing someone? Probably some form of manslaughter. So while 'attempted manslaughter' may not be a real crime, it's a pretty accurate characterization in that he had to know he was putting peoples' lives in danger and gave no fucks.

Definitely not a jj fan, but if I were in his position, and was going to do a super fight..at heavyweight...and all the while the UFC told me if i did, if i went to HW, i would make more money...i would turn it down as well. He has his tarnished legacy, and does risk that by fighting at HW. So why take the risk, when u can fight guys at LHW and make the same money?

I see his point is all I'm saying. I would have made the same choice if it were me and what he says is true. While he may not be the biggest ppv draw, Francis is getting bigger and probably combined with Jon would make a pretty decent return. A super fight always makes money.
