Why does it feel like Mark O Madsen should be way better?

Sometimes shit just don't translate well to MMA. Lol at all the "he's old" replies.

DC and Couture were old too when coming to MMA. Francis was 37 when he fought Fury.

Fighting is fighting and Madsen doesn't have it.

He is big and he is old. Meaning that gas tank just handles certain level of pace.
Also his momentum is gone aftet Dawson dominated him

Nah, age is real. All the guys you used as examples are bigger guys, and historically they age better than teh smaller fighters.

His wrestling credentials don't translate well to MMA, he doesn't seem to know how to effectively use his wrestling in an MMA fight, there are plenty of less accomplished wrestlers who are just better than him at MMA wrestling.

His stand up is also sloppy, he's like a pit bull with no defense and not enough bite to back it up.

Being 39 years old doesn't help either.

I didn't say age wasn't real, but mark o madsen wouldn't be good in this 10 years ago. You can just see fighting isn't for him. Good on him for trying though.

And if age is everything, then don't be old when starting mma lol

Hes old as shit, and just couldn't pick up the necessary skills to be a top 10 guy. Wrestling credentials don't always make guys great fighters.

We have no idea how Madsen would perform if he got into fighting ten years younger. If you look at Tony Ferguson now you'd never know he used to be a world beater.
Age is tougher on the LWs. In fact, name one LW who was still relevant in his late 30's. (EDIT - actually I can think of a few but it's still rare)

well madsen, ya blew it.... back to your 9-5 at the lego factory.

Cool. Now find me some examples of lightweights and featherweights doing well entering the sport past 35.

IQ is terrible and has no chin. With proper gameplan he should have beat Gordon. He was doing well but as soon has 1 good punch landed he was done.
