Why Does Barboza Seem To Have Nuthuggers On Here? He's Boring

Unless you're completely out of your element against him standing, he's content to do the bare minimum to win a decision. He was a much better striker than Pettis and Felder in those fights, but pretty much was content to move around the cage and do fuck-all except score enough points to ensure victory.

Flashy kicks don't make an exciting striker. The guy is a boring counter striker most of the time. The only times he's ever in a good fight is when his opponent pushes the action. And even then, Barboza likes to move out of harm's way and try and potshot.

The more relevant question, I believe, is why does sherdog have so many shitty posters that start threads?

Using the term "nuthugger" to define any fan of any level of any fighter kind of makes it lose it's meaning.

He's exciting and people enjoy watching him. I don't see the nuthuggery in that.

Barboza fights are usually pretty fun for me. He may substitute killer instinct for flash at times, but that flash is dangerous and scary.

Compare that with Pettis last night doing flips and jumping wheel kicks that even if they had landed would have done nothing.

As with a huge majority of the fighters in the promotion. I'm neutral. I just like watching the fights. Hoping to see a good one. And filing away in my mind what I see.

It becomes very hard to do that once emotions enter into it. So I keep my distance.

And the object is to win. So anything done within the rules is cool with me. He had very little trouble with Pettis. It was a very solid win.

I like watching how technical he is.

Seems like the post 2010 fans just want to see guys throw caution to the wind.

Hate to think what he would have done to poor Anthony's leg if he was trying to do more than just "score points".

If that's "point fighting" I'm scared of what he can do at full power trying to finish someone.

Barbosa boring?! As your thread shows you're definitely in the latter here. He's one of the consistently exciting guys to watch, I always look forward to it when he's on a card. It's not his fault Pettis was gunshy last night

Are you mentally retarded?

I don't get it. Is it because he's dark-skinned and it's politically correct to support him? He's boring as fuck. Yet, you all seem to love him.

flashy? nah he picks his opponents apart with excellent fundamentals, you sound like your describing that dud anthony

I'll never get tired of people NOT GRASPING the concept of not rushing power strikers. Barboza beat the shit out of Pettis, yet he should have aggressively pushed despite all of his success coming from his patience and skill at a distance. alright.

it's like MMA fans view striking as a binary, you're either better or you aren't, and that 'better' transfers to everywhere the fight is standing.
