Why do people call it a shoot

When you shoot for a double leg you just shot. A wrestler may have a great shot but saying he has a good shoot is stupid and ignorant. Friggin BJJ guys misusing us rasslers' terminology.
 
Clearly this is a serious issue.

For the records, I've heard it called both, in both wrestling and bjj.
 
Because "pro" wrestling already took "spear" and "tackle" doesn't sound as cool.

When you fire a gun you shoot it. If you hit your target, someone then says, "nice shot."
Same for shooting a double. Saying "nice shoot" is wrong.
