Seems quite arbitrary and puts the onus on grapplers to get the fight to the ground. why not stand on the ground and put the pressure on fighters to standup

Then how would they reach each other? Would they have to crawl towards each other to engage?

Came to rip you and ended up leaving laughing lol

Where would you like them to stand?

Why is a tree made of wood? Why are men's testicles hanging in a sack? Questions...

Would they flip a coin for top position?

Even in wrestling or bjj competitors start standing. That's why they train in the art of takedowns.

Okay, let's entertain this for a second.

They start on the ground in opposite corners. What is exactly is stopping them from just standing up after the fight starts? Do you see the problem here?

Don't normally post in wastelanded threads but this was hilarious.

You've not thought this through TS:

Guess what the first thing both fighters would do at very start of fight?

Stand up.

You can't be suggesting one starts already mounted or in guard on the other. They would be seperated by the referee, like normal, but on the ground.

They'd just get up, in effect, starting the fight standing.

They should start ass to ass.
