Why do drug test failure trials take such a long time for high profile fighters?

Its been nearly six months since Jon Jones has failed his second drug test. There have been basically not much update on the issue, but we keep on hearing hints of all the possible ways Jones could sneak out, and I hear the next hearing is two months from now. And here we have DC hinting at Jon Jones getting a reduced suspension at the 220 Presser. It all seems like some kind of PR stunt to get Jones name back in the green.

Its as if, delay this thing long enough, people will forget/forgive.

The whole Lesnar fiasco should be investigated by a committee and so does all these short term retirements fighters pull off these days.

High profile means more money for lawyers

Jon Jones is innocent, the things he said leading up to the fight, and after it just doesn't seem right.

I understand that, but there has to be some kind of time constraint to all this. What could happen is Jones will get a retroactive suspension and be given an additional six month to prepare for his next fight. I hope Jones is getting tested during his trial/suspension, or else thats another giveaway for him to cycle.

Are suspended fighters still in the USADA scope?

higher profile=more money=more resources you have to find a "tainted" excuse

How come we know what Jones tested positive for but not what Anderson Silva tested positive for in his last failed test? weird.

gotta wait for the check to be cleared.

I'm not 100% on this but I vaguely remember nick diaz complaining about still being tested while suspended/inactive.

Because jones team released that info and andersons team didn't. That simple.
