Why didn't Overeem use his kicks vs Ngannou?

He prefered break dancing with Ngannou in the pocket instead.

He was just about to use them and then the power cut happened.

He didn't have time to do anything.

His gameplan went out the window when he was knocked into next week.

Even if the first two minutes were loaded with leg kicks, they wouldn't have had time to weaken/slow Francis down before he almost decapitated the Reem.

Hes been out of an elite k1 kickboxing camp for years now
Plus he got knocked the fuck out

Heavy hands meeting weak chin and opp being same size was never gonna end well for him

You obviously didn't watch the fight otherwise you would have noticed Reem's legs were twitching as he laid there

bad game plan and ngannou is hard to beat too. You can have the best gameplan but trying to impose your will on a 260 lbs lean and mean mf is a tall order.

Why did he sign up for that fight in the first place is a better question.

Reem doesn't do kicks in the first round. Look at his fights versus JDS or Stipe.
He just moves around, feels them out, waits for an opening to land a hard shot. He's not a high volume striker.

With Ngannou his gameplan seemed to be based on clinching and counter left hooks.
He did land a decent left hook over the top in the exchange before the knockout.
And half a second before the knockout he did hit Ngannou with another left hook.
