Why didnt Marco Ruas invincibility in Vale Tudo translate over to the UFC?

Idk but I grew up training everyday in Orange county with Allan Goes, he even came over to my Grandparents one time for Christmas. Ruas was a familiar face around Allan, he'd be at the same tiny sushi restaurant my friends and I went to and sometimes we'd sit in his section and talk about the sport. Vitor came around a couple times, Mayhem, Schaub, Cordeiro, Lyoto, Cyborg, many many more. Was a badass area to live in and be around the sport.

Guy has official fight on his record from 84 lol. He was in the sport for ten years before it even existed.

Came close to one MMA lightyear before it turned out he was really bad at it instead.

Marco Ruas was never defeated in Vale Tudo (Brazils version of MMA) and that fighting competition had been around for decades, it wasnt bum of the month club.

Ruas won 6 times in the UFC until he lost to Taktarov who is not a quote "great" fighter. Then drew him in a rematch.

Who the fuck said Taktarov isn't a great fighter?
