why didn't GSP rematch hendricks?

it's kinda of a cool, ironic thing to think back because right before the fight, there was definitely some controversy about which organization should be drug testing these two, and now post-USADA, Hendricks is a joke and GSP is the GOAT

I think they could honestly make this rematch happen tomorrow w/o any training or weight-cutting because the result would be the same 100/100 times. GSP by any way he wants.

GSP took some punishment in his last four fights before his hiatus (Sheilds, Condit, Diaz and Hendricks) He was concussed at least twice and was nearly blinded during the Shields fight.

His medical team advised him he could not spar for 2 years and during this time frame (December 2013-December 2015) he torn up his knee which further delayed his return.

GSP began negotiating with the UFC in 2016. He probably would have returned to UFC 200 if a deal got done. It didn't which further lead to his delay in returning.

He came back, won the MW strap and believe me when I say if Hendricks stayed competitive and his "stock was high" GSP would have gladly rematched him. Hendricks plummented after USADA came into play and he probably was taking ped's before the GSP fight.

Finally, GSP 1,3,5

He was gonna retire win or lose.

He fought bisping retired
Yes, he did come out of retirement to fight Bisping.

I think you miss understand what my intensions are. I'm not trying to bad mouth GSP at all. Not even in a tongue in cheek way.

GSP won a close back and forth fight and retired. There is nothing wrong with that. I was just pointing out to TS that GSP decided to retire and there was no reason for him to be pressured into coming back.

I had Hendricks winning the fight. Gsp kept a very busy fight schedule. I don't blame him for taking a couple years off.
I bet if he starts fighting again, it will only be twice a year

GSP ducked the Hendricks rematch and Whittaker.

It’s as simple as that.

Bisping brings it up within 30 seconds of breaking down the fight.

"There are rumors of retirement, and when fighters do that, it's the beginning of the end"

Haters don't want to believe this is possible or had any effect on the fight. They don't even want to believe the decision.

I just rewatched the fight. First time since it was live. I scored it exactly like you. Only difference is that I thought the 4th round was a pick ‘em.

Rogan and Goldie (Rogan) mostly colored it way in favor of Hendricks. That definitely swayed peoples perception of the fight. I had to tell myself to not listen and just watch the fight.

Finally, I rewatchedthinking I was going to see Hendricks win. I still saw it the same way years later. GSP via UD.

I get it GSP won... but i easily gave the first round to Hendricks and I don't see how you can score it any other way...

I know hendricks sucks now, but are we really supposed to believe as fans that George was having demons or was too stressed from being champion?

he was still in his prime, not quite, but still.... how could he retire after getting his ass beat like that and rewatching the fight? it seems he cared more about his fake legacy than coming back and proving he is the better fighter?

it just doesn't sit with me well and I feel George is better than that...how could he just let that go? especially being mother fucking GSP....

it seems so odd
Why did Jordan retire? People take breaks, there is more to life than a sport.

Did´t Hendrick win that fight???

Lol GSP always looks like he got into a car wreck after his fights win or lose.

Well, why don't you just come out and say it, whatever the hell it is that you're implying?

Pussy.

Sorry, I kinda lose it when it comes to GSP. I'm kind of a fanboy.
Hahahaha love the spoilers

Because when he returned Hendricks was a shell of himself and not worth it

This might have been 1 of the reasons that GSP didn't care to rematch Johnny.

Yeah he was busted up but imo he won round 1 and won 3 rounds to 2, agreed maybe he wasn't confident in a rematch.

why didnt u just put this in wasteland and save time to eat more cheetos

hendricks totally took the 5th round off too.

Haters gonna hate all you salty losers think he needed to avenge a win it's sad. You just pray he actually loses so you can throw that guy a parade like when Werdum ended Fedor. Nobody actually cares for this rematch or a Whittaker fight you just hungry to see the goat fall. GSP defended Johnny had his shot and got beat deal with it, Whittaker got handed a title and gsp earned the right to pick and choose fights he wants at this point.

Because he was never planning on fighting before the first one happened. With how calculated every move he's made in his career has been, do you really believe for a second that he made a decision after the fight to retire? That decision was made before he even signed the contract.
