Why Did Tyron Woodley Duck Colby Covington?

Is it cowardice or a simple (perhaps misguided) money grab?

How do you know what's going on inside the guy's head?

People can have different reasons for doing different things.

Fair point. I guess it could be very well a misguided money/fame grab. Tyron could be jealous of guys like McGregor, feeling he's "owed" a big payday. But Tyron needs to prove himself more. He got a questionable decision win against Wonderboy, and the other fight was a draw. I had Wonderboy winning both fights 3-2. Either way, Woodley is lucky he didn't lose a decision in either of those fights.

You get money fights and popularity by making statements with your fighting. For example: Knocking out Jose Aldo or Eddie Alvarez. Nate Diaz did it by beating McGregor. Had Woodley stopped Wonderboy and stopped Maia in exciting fashion, we'd be having a different conversation right now.

Woodley needs to either defend another 3-4 times or finish fights in spectacular fashion if he wants a big payday. Nothing else is going to do it.

In the 16 months since Woodley won the WW belt, he has 3 successful title defenses. In the 24 months since McGregor won the 145 belt, he has zero title defenses. He fought Diaz twice at catch weight bouts (won once, lost once via submission) and beat Alvarez for the 155 belt and then relinquished the 145 belt. So go start a thread about McGregor ducking contenders instead of a stupid thread about Woodley.

They’re both ducks. Quack quack.
